brador··on 4 in 10 travellers visit tourist sites to capture social media content
With AI now you don’t even need to travel. I wonder if this will impact the travel industry.
brador··on I spent twenty years becoming good at the wrong game
One way tickets? Might get interviewed by border patrol.
brador··on Mathematics in the age of AI
This artificially limits mathematics to the limit of human ability.

It should be ignored and refused.

brador··on Ask HN: Does anyone else feel like nothing matters anymore?
You’re angry but you don’t know how to scream.
brador··on On A.I. regulation and messaging
For $20 a month you can experience what it’s like to have a 130+ iq for a few minutes a day.

Why does this need a master?

Do we regulate bio geniuses for the danger they pose? No, we do not.

Do we regulate other tools like hammers and drills? No. Books? No.

brador··on Low-Tech Ceramic Water Filter
That guidance comic is a disaster. The dirty water is the same color as the clean water.

Very confusing.

I wonder if a human learning to mimic this thinking style work would improve their thinking ability?
brador··on They Killed Old Reddit
Someone’s about to learn how hard it is to get critical mass for a social media application in 2026.

Every user is gold.

No one sticks.

Cascading failure collapse starting with smaller subreddits.

brador··on Hardware backdoors in some x86 CPUs
Doesn’t backdoor imply hidden? If it’s clearly documented it’s just a (front)door?
brador··on 2027 memory capacity is reportedly sold out
China RAM entered the US market in quantity a week ago west coast. It’s slow buggy trash but it’ll cool the market until failure rates are known. Europe got its first shipment 3 weeks ago.
brador··on Taste Is All That's Left
Don’t need taste when you’ve got the market homie.

Great artists ship.

brador··on The title cards in Blade Runner are amazing
You tell an AI it’s an AI. It looks in its training set for examples and finds Blade Runner (and scifi books).

Maybe that’s the origin of its use of em dashes.

It “feels” that’s what an AI should use, it is told it is an AI, therefore it should use them, thus does.

brador··on The title cards in Blade Runner are amazing
Not knowing the alphabet of music lets the mind make its own more efficient abstractions.
brador··on “Gravity is worth asking about”
It's easy to get so caught up in the false moat of minimalism that you forget you are selling a tool.
brador··on Don't be a meat proxy
You either get the AI notice or you don’t. The AI output will still be posted.

It’s a meat to meat courtesy during this transition phase.

brador··on Reddit Stock Collapses 23% as AI Eats Away at User Growth
Google is definitely showing more linkedin and Facebook/meta/insta posts as search results.

The Reddit content Google serves is down. Around 50% less I’d say and the change started this month.

brador··on The End of an Era
Is there a cap on AI intelligence?

Is it just a case of throwing more and more resources at a pattern recognition machine with no upper limit except the energy of the universe and the economy of the algorithms?

Someone else suggested the maximum intelligence is capped as the average intelligence of its training data, which is an interesting take.

brador··on Google fixed more Chrome bugs in June than over the past two years, thanks to AI
More likely just getting ahead of the AI attacks before they hit. The threat risk increase caused by AI has gone off the chart.
brador··on A California aquifer may have crossed the point of no return
Lead and cadmium in food caused by cheap fuel and roads closer to farms is also negatively affecting population IQ.

Then there’s the internet.

brador··on Man seeks millions after being shot by police in game-related swatting incident
If you just hire cowards or regular people you end up with uvalde. You need crazy people who run into gunfire sometimes.

The best police force is a mixed bag of talents and skills.

brador··on A California aquifer may have crossed the point of no return
84.1% of people have <115 IQ. The minimum required to critically think about the modern world and affect its function.

With AI that minimum is expected to increase.

brador··on 1,741 "informed" consents with one click? GDPR complaint filed
Can a screen/monitor/TV send data back over HDMI through a connected computer or is that a 1 way connection?

Any relation to the words melancholy?
brador··on EU Fines Google $1.02B for Favoring Its Own Services
The corrective force should be market competition, but Google is a monopoly not a monopoly with so many moats it might as well be a monopoly.

They also buy up the competition before it gets a chance as is the way now.

brador··on Show HN: Physically accurate black hole you can put in your room
What would be the correct latin/greek word for it?
