And I thought that the chrome multitasking was too much effort.
braco_alva··on Show HN: Free Unlimited Private File Sending (Beta)
I was thinking the exact same thing, I feel very dissapointed every time I see something interesting at the top of HN, and when I'm going to try it out, there's no Linux version of it.

It's like you said, if they want a good number of beta testers/ early adopters, they should have a Linux version.

braco_alva··on Go is amazing, period.
Yeah, very impressive for someone of his age, I wish there were more kids like him.
braco_alva··on Google's New Cross Platform Gaming Library PlayN
In case you're trying to go to the getting started page in the overview it seems like it is broken, here is the getting started page in google code http://code.google.com/p/playn/wiki/GettingStarted
braco_alva··on Google's New Cross Platform Gaming Library PlayN
Yes, we have been using PlayN for a few months right now, it is true that it is not as complete as other cross-platform tools, but it is starting to get a really good shape, someone just made a C-ish backend last month and got a working example on iOS, but this backend could help us with ports to WP7 and consoles.

Last week someone did a major fix to flash export, I haven't tested yet since it's not in the maven central repo yet, but if you use source code in google code, maybe you could test the state of flash now.

iOS port is in the works, it's not done yet, but there's a few people working on it, there's already a set of instructions in the google group on how to test a basic example of iOS, but it's not as complete as HTML and Android ports.

This is a nice litte webapp, I have been using it for a couple of months now, and it has been very useful.
braco_alva··on Sleepyti.me
Yeah, I noticed that too, weird, it's not everday that we see comebacks like this one on HN.

If you're making cross-platform games, you may want to take a look at playn, we have been using it for over 5 months, and it has been really easy to use and works really good, though some platforms are still a work in progress http://code.google.com/p/playn
braco_alva··on Die, Hollywood, die
I feel it's a balance between both, yes, you're right the distribution channels are already there, but the quality of the productions that use those channels are not even close to the quality Hollywood productions have.

We need to find a way to give independent studios a way to develop quality content that can be easily distributed and develop technology that lowers the production cost, because probably Hollywood studios won't shift until they see there's a market, where independent studios are actually making profits.

braco_alva··on Die, Hollywood, die
The post is right about distribution being the biggest challenge, it is not about how movies are being made, is about how can you shift the industry model into another distribution channel.

Thanks for clearing that up, just before I read your comment I was thinkg "Wow, that was fast."
braco_alva··on Israeli hacker posts ‘100,000′ more stolen Facebook logins

braco_alva··on Disassembly of Pokémon Red
Same here, trying to get some things done tonight, but how can you say 'no' to something like this.
braco_alva··on Ask HN: Developing for IOS on a VM or "Hackintosh" environment
As previous comments said, it is a lot better buying an used macbook, I had the same dilemma a year ago, tried with a hackintosh with no luck, a couple of months later I found an used macbook on ebay that it was in really good shape, still using it.
braco_alva··on Windows 8 OEM specs may block Linux booting
But even if this was true, there is still ways around this right? I mean rEFIt does a pretty good job booting up Linux in Mac, so wouldn't this be possible in those PC's as well?
braco_alva··on Git Is Simpler Than You Think

braco_alva··on How I name my apps

braco_alva··on Screenfly - mimics devices for website testing
It's a cool site, but it doesn't seem to be supporting canvas yet. And yes, my browser(Chrome 12) does support it.
