boyadjian··on Sales of vinyl albums overtake CDs for the first time since the late ’80s
Too bad the quantization of the CD is only 16 bits, if it had been only 20 bits, CD sound could have been above all critics. Still I don't really understand people that still buys vinyl, such an obsolete technology
boyadjian··on Proof of stake is incapable of producing a consensus
I think it is a matter of months, before crypto mining is banned in Europe and the US. Just because cryptomining is a bottomless well : The more crypto miners earn money, the more they invest on graphic cards and the more they consume electricity. Inevitably, there will be supply problems

boyadjian··on What really happened at the Millennium Tower?
Those high tower are just nonsense, from a human and an ecological point of vue, especially for residential buildings. New buildings, should have no more than six floors
boyadjian··on Macron says France will build new nuclear energy reactors
For me, what emerges from this story is the lack of anticipation on the part of the French government. For years, nuclear power was discredited because it was not environmentally friendly, so we shut down power plants, and now we have to refabricate them? All this makes no sense. Moreover, the production of a nuclear power plant is very long, how are we going to do it in the meantime?
boyadjian··on Why Does Quantitative Easing Benefit the Rich?
If quantitative easing did not benefit the rich, it would not be adopted so long, it is as simple as that

boyadjian··on Vinyl Album Sales Jump 108% in First 6 Months of 2021
I don't think it's a good thing buying a vinyl turntable nowadays. There is a current hype with vinyl, but I am not sure it will last. Many people say that vinyl has a superior sound, but this is mainly because a good turntable adds some bass to the sound (And sometimes treble), compensating the lack of bass of bad loudspeakers, but with real good loudspeakers, CD usually sounds better
boyadjian··on Steve Wozniak speaks on Right to Repair [video]
The problem is not only the right to repair, but that some product available for sale, are of such bad quality, that they will work only for a very limited time. Buying a good brand is the most important thing. For example, a good brand will provide spare parts to allow you to repair yourself

boyadjian··on There’s no place for expensive laptops with 8GB of RAM anymore
Totally agree, but that's not new, makers have always sold laptops with not enough RAM. Two years ago, I extended the 8GB RAM of my Lenovo E330, to 16GB, and now I can keep it several years more. Buying a desktop or laptop PC with only 8 GB RAM is a nonsense nowadays, but unfortunately, few people are aware of that. And if you build a brand new gaming computer, you have to put 32GB of RAM, if you want to keep it many years
boyadjian··on Has UML died without anyone noticing?
There was a big UML fashion in the company where I work, they even hired a specialist in the subject, did training. And a few years later the specialist left, and no one made UML anymore

boyadjian··on Why Did We ‘Degauss’ Our Old Monitors?
