So not for real time applications?

Still very interesting, thank you for the information!

boxedemp··on Apple App Store threatened to remove Grok over deepfakes: Letter
Maybe they have, but I would suggest against it.

No, I was a photographer at the time

Nope
boxedemp··on Arguing with Agents
Never been diagnosed. Been to many therapists and psychiatrists.

I've been diagnosed with depression several times, but never anything spicier.

I'm just strange I guess.

boxedemp··on Are the costs of AI agents also rising exponentially? (2025)
Sorry for stating something so obvious. I'll comment less from now on.
boxedemp··on Hyperscalers have already outspent most famous US megaprojects
If we're counting, the USA was already pretty deep in the hole. Anybody that has experienced crippling debt understands there's a point of no return where you just embrace it.

And that point is right before rock bottom.

boxedemp··on Codex for almost everything
Funny joke,

But for real, obviously we all know people use agents to pick restaurants and that's a legit vector.

I agree it's not the biggest surface, but it's worth knowing imdo

boxedemp··on Are the costs of AI agents also rising exponentially? (2025)
If you gave me an agent that succeeded 50% of tasks I gave it, I could take over the world in a week. Faster if I wasn't so lazy.

I think you're overestimating, or oversimplifying. Maybe both.

boxedemp··on Towards trust in Emacs
I build my own. Maybe I nee to externalize it...
boxedemp··on Isaac Asimov: The Last Question (1956)
There are lots of free LLMs, but you (often) pay for the good ones.

There's lots of people with lots of opinions, but you (often) have to pay for the good ones.

boxedemp··on Isaac Asimov: The Last Question (1956)
Thank you, that just made my day.
boxedemp··on Everything we like is a psyop?
Unless you're RMS
boxedemp··on Codex for almost everything
Well put, but I don't like it. Though, I've seen this exact pattern multiple times now.
boxedemp··on Claude Opus 4.7
Why? Good anxiety or bad?
boxedemp··on Claude Opus 4.7
I've got a gfx device crash that only happens on switch. Not Xbox, ps4, steam, epic, or anything. Only switch.

Opus hasn't been able to fix it. I haven't been able to fix it. Maybe mythos can idk, but I'll be surprised.

boxedemp··on Claude Opus 4.7
This sounds good, I look forward to experimenting with it.
boxedemp··on Claude Opus 4.7
I'm wondering this too. That said, I know a few people in real life who prefer Codex. More who prefer Claude though.
boxedemp··on Arguing with Agents
>A recurring experience: I say something explicit, the other person hears something implicit.

I've experienced this my entire life and have all but given up trying to have actual conversations with people.

In the 90s I spent many hours on IRC and newsgroups reading all kinds of wonderful, and some not so wonderful things. I even had my own website, with photos, a web log, and a guest book! None of us were paid.

Sure, it wasn't as dressed up, but it was joyful and charming.

Not everything is about money, and not everything needs to be done for money. On the contrary; money seems to drain the charm and joy.

How does it compare to photon networking? I've been using photon and webrtc mostly. I haven't had any issues, but I'm always interested in finding better solutions!

boxedemp··on Show HN: I built a frontpage for personal blogs
Very cool!! It's actually full of blogs! I've seen lots of claims for this kind of thing, glad to see you followed through!
boxedemp··on Artemis computer running two instances of MS outlook; they can't figure out why
It's a good setting. I've found it gets reset sometimes from Windows updates, so you must remain vigilant.
boxedemp··on Show HN: 1-Bit Bonsai, the First Commercially Viable 1-Bit LLMs
Because it's the opposite of shabby
boxedemp··on Neanderthals survived on a knife's edge for 350k years
Basque Country also has an interesting language which doesn't seem related to other European languages. Basque language (or Euskara).

Seems as though it could have been an enclave of neanderthals who eventually integrated with humans.

boxedemp··on ARM AGI CPU: Specs and SKUs
I figured they would do this when SoftBank acquired them.

SB likes 10x buys.

Happens in Canada too. Calling them out can be dangerous, people have been injured.
