Reading black on white from a backlit screen is akin to reading the wattage information from a glowing lightbulb. It hurts.

I hope there are some other publications on the subject of greater or equal quality that have yet to go out of print. &tbs=li:1
Ugly, but it works.OSX is a non-contender in my book because of its complete disregard for the standard Unix directory structure, its use of registry files, its ancient BSD utilities last updated in the '90s, and its lack of a package manager that actually integrates with the rest of the system. Of course the window manager sucks too, but that's only if you judge according to functionality. To be a Mac aficionado, you've got to judge only according to how slick the UI looks. Right?
I understand that your goal is to create the appearance of simplicity via complicated obfuscations. Those of us who are concerned about where our accounts live, and how they're structured, are not your prospective customers. So while I have no need for an invite, I wish you the best of success. Certainly some people will enjoy your service.
The biggest gotcha for me as a newcomer was trying to install on a laptop, having no ethernet access handy, and not knowing that I'd need to install wireless_tools when running through the initial setup in order to get online.
The amount of time it takes varies greatly according to what you consider to be complete. I never stop tweaking my system, and there are always some points of dissatisfaction with it. But Arch is a great distro. It's very well-documented, and is pretty much delightful to configure.
They could ship with a package manager (or "app store", what have you), and offer an API to the car. If they allow competition amongst app makers then usability standards should naturally increase.
Of course it would be necessary for car-makers to set high minimum standards of safety in app design, and to enforce those standards strictly.
I've considered starting a car company around this principle, but the barrier to entry is daunting.
