bluealienpie··on OpenAI Says It Will Not Release Newest A.I. Model Over Safety Concerns
My lobster is too buttery and delicious as well.
bluealienpie··on Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah
He also promotes transphobia. Chomsky was friends with Epstein and acquaintance of Steve Bannon. I don’t think that discredits his entire body of work, but I think we should stop promoting him when there are sources that are less problematic.
bluealienpie··on What is the size of Yemen? (2024)
Like bombing innocent people in boats for a crime that would require a trial and not be illegible for death sentence?
bluealienpie··on In Sweden, Organized Election Fraud, "Clan Voting"
Is strategic voting illegal? This is exactly what happened in Canadas federal election that decimated the NDP (left) party. Social media was pretty threatening if you said you were going to vote NDP, friends and family would say it’s too important to lose to Conservative party.
bluealienpie··on What California is learning from solar panels built over irrigation canals
The issue is that the US perceives poverty as personal issue rather than public issue. If my neighbor has no housing their likelihood of becoming addicted is way higher than if we simply gave them a house to live in, and far cheaper than constantly policing them.
bluealienpie··on The Death of Physical Media
I think might more accurately reflect the current situation, definitely more slanted towards archivist

bluealienpie··on Dutch central bank moves share of gold from U.S., Canada to London
They had the laws to stop him but since congress stopped legislating, it gave the supreme courts wide discretion to approve executive actions. Strong executive isn’t a flaw of the system, it’s the inevitable consequence of years of media illiteracy and vast sums of money in politics enabled by citizens united.
bluealienpie··on How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been?
I was awed by the future he promised, especially https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respirocyte

Looking back, he’s great at selling a future of possibility as long as you don’t track all the errors.

bluealienpie··on The Internet Is Kind of a Predatory Cesspit Now
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komarodin

I’m neither aroused nor enraged. Good job.

bluealienpie··on US sanctions Italian hosting provider Autistici Inventati
Eliminating all rights in the name that one person may be bad seems like a slippery slope especially one filled with anecdotes instead of sources.
bluealienpie··on Servus München: Waymo Is Coming to Germany
In the current phase it just displaces the need for taxi labor. In the long term, you could technically remove all signage and have V2V communication to define vehicle movement without ever stopping. Example you could make an intersection where cars zigzag through each other instead of stopping.

All this being said, it’s no replacement for competent mass transit.

bluealienpie··on How credit card rewards became a $9.2B wealth transfer
I think the main issue that the NHS model of 10+ years ago worked when fully funded. The Canadian model is a mix match of US healthcare and Medicare. Some drugs aren’t covered, some procedures take forever, and you don’t get guaranteed doctor. Many European healthcare system have solved the issues we have, but Canada has refused to adopt any sensible system.
bluealienpie··on Canada will match US tariffs 'dollar for dollar' as trade talks break down
I want them to be negatively impacted. Maybe a couple family members spoke publicly about what’s happening, and the rest remain silent or indifferent. My cousins are too busy with their multi million dollar AI roles to even see us non-millionaires as human.
bluealienpie··on Canada will match US tariffs 'dollar for dollar' as trade talks break down
But the Canadian government wants to be the 51st state. They have rapidly defunded social services, expanded fossil fuels and will adopt US style militarization. In fact, purchasing those munitions from the only country that has threatened to take it over.
bluealienpie··on Los Puesteros, solitary men who look after ranches and livestock in Patagonia
Patagonia as it’s referred to today was never unpopulated, it still has an indigenous population. This narrative is used everywhere for vast untamed wilderness that just ignores the many people still living there.
bluealienpie··on AI Is Threatening Natural Resources for Billions
X is terrible, so don’t address Y is an awful way of framing any issue.
bluealienpie··on Woman pulled over twice after Flock-linked software connected her to homicide
Exactly, the abuse of power and the everyone going along with it is the issue. The supreme court and executive now function as a complete governing body without any input from congress. Every spending bill gets passed with bipartisan support, even if the Democrats need to sacrifice a few members. Meanwhile I hear very few people complaining about colonizing Venezuela.
bluealienpie··on US Military's cyber command unit grapples with cluster of deaths by suicide
Shoot and cry
bluealienpie··on Tax cuts for the wealthy only benefit the rich (2023)
So no candidate ran on tax cuts? Explicitly for high income earners?
bluealienpie··on IRGC claims it destroyed Amazon's Bahrain data center
Israel has densely populated urban neighborhoods that would be completely wiped out in a conventional attack. Tehran would be destroyed with nukes but so would every major Israeli city. The scale of country size is immense. If Israel thought that nuclear weapons were a viable option, they would use them already. That’s the reason for the tit for tat. They both have capacity to attacks that would devastate each other countries. Smotrich would rather the US take the brunt of attack and losses their ME bases.
bluealienpie··on Are AI labs pelicanmaxxing?
AI rating AI? Am I missing something.
bluealienpie··on Alex Karp Is Saying What Every Angry CEO Is Thinking About AI
I know people honestly working to make government taxation efficient to help people, but they then take those profits and buy 3-4 houses in lower income communities and rent them out at exorbitant rates once renovated. None of this would be an issues except regulation prevents affordable and non market housing.
bluealienpie··on 30-year sentence for transporting zines is a five-alarm fire for free speech
*Murderer
bluealienpie··on Michigan bill would bar employers from requiring after-hours coms with workers
This is the media equivalent of showing a family swimming on the lake when discussing heatwave death. You have valid life experience but it’s not relevant to the topic at hand.
bluealienpie··on Amazon drops Sam Altman movie after announcing OpenAI partnership
Agree on tabloids in general but this is widely reported https://www.theguardian.com/film/2026/jun/19/luca-guadagnino...
bluealienpie··on Hyundai buys Boston Dynamics
Google summaries from websites mainly did this before “AI” came around. Now I just don’t know the source unless I dig myself. Would rather it went back to before, or at least they implemented the veracity checks better.

I thought it was interested that the movie looper had argidrones, but what inspired that wasn’t part of the training set or discussion online. I get remarkably bad answers and search results which seem misleading at best.

bluealienpie··on Foreign business owners are scrambling to raise capital to stay in Japan
Fundamentally the issue is that visa requirements are restrictive creating concentrated demand for labor. There are countries with higher paying jobs that can done online, but every position doesn't just shift overseas. We put the onus on the individual to stop illegal activity, but it’s the business owners that hire and sustain this kind of employment. A high minimum wage would negate the need and desire for irregular migration. It would also provide good paying jobs for migrants who could afford to live in the country.
bluealienpie··on Israeli firm BlackCore suspected of meddling in New York and Scotland votes
The purpose is support enterprises which have investment in genocide, the free speech nature of this website was always questionable at best.
bluealienpie··on Israeli firm BlackCore suspected of meddling in New York and Scotland votes
They also committed genocide as well. Surprising that even after Israeli human rights organizations acknowledge it, it still remains stuck in the mind of capitalists to support profit at any cost.
bluealienpie··on Global population movements from 1990 to 2023
And if you pay taxes and social security for 20+ years why wouldn’t you be entitled to it? Especially considering you wouldn’t be using expensive programs like Medicare.
