bluSCALE4··on Kid gamers to adult gamblers? Investigation of childhood gaming and YA gambling
No porn? You got that going for you at least! I believe we're all struggling with that TBH.
bluSCALE4··on ChatGPT's enterprise success against Copilot fuels OpenAI/Microsoft rivalry
AI probably hates him so it acts dumb.
bluSCALE4··on Chatbots are replacing Google's search, devastating traffic for some publishers
They were called webrings.
bluSCALE4··on Apple introduces a universal design across platforms
Though this doesn't really count, there are definitely Windows 3.1 icons still there. Windows 95's Offline Web Pages folder is alive and well in Windows 11.
bluSCALE4··on Apple introduces a universal design across platforms
Very meandering comment. You've highlighted a very stupid reason for introducing CLI at install albeit a real situation. Didn't know there was a command for bypassing it and I freely admit, it made me see red.

The true difference between Windows and other OSes is that the CLI was thought out. I imagine there are still people out there running headless OSes. The UI is optional. Though this isn't the case for macOS, it tries to pretend it is IMO.

Guess you never needed to use ipconfig. Jokes aside, you're right. It never had a power system underneath which is why macOS started to dominate in the 2010s.
bluSCALE4··on Apple introduces a universal design across platforms
Window's problem has always been their legacy systems. I believe to this day you can bring up windows 95 era dialogs somehow in Windows 11?
bluSCALE4··on Meta: Shut down your invasive AI Discover feed
Because they've spearheaded the downfall of the internet and society in generally maybe?
bluSCALE4··on Meta: Shut down your invasive AI Discover feed
Who in their right mind would trust fb with AI questions?
bluSCALE4··on IRS Direct File
Regardless of its fate, it's open sourced. It can now be forked and made better in far less time.
bluSCALE4··on IRS Direct File
As an XML Specialist, this is perfectly clear to me.
bluSCALE4··on AniSora: Open-source anime video generation model
Bullshit, it failed to build but took my credits.
bluSCALE4··on Apple App Store guidelines remove ban on encouraging external payments in US
Well said. Streaming services are finally getting the kinds of commercial content we did in the 80s and 90s. It's refreshing as I feel those years were the golden era of toys. Many toys of the era didn't even have commercials but we still wanted them. X-Men toys for example. If I was a kid, I'd of loved to have seen weekly commercials of the newest line up of X-Men toys.
bluSCALE4··on Judge rules Apple executive lied under oath, makes criminal contempt referral
The coward part was to stress his later point that they'll all fall in line like a herd of animals.
bluSCALE4··on Finland is painting deer antlers with reflective paint (2014)
Wouldn't this have to be done every year? Or did the petting zoo I visited lie to me?
bluSCALE4··on Pipelining might be my favorite programming language feature
Same. The sad part is that pipelining seems to be something AI is really good at so I'm finding myself writing less of it.
bluSCALE4··on Google to embrace MCP
Anyone else wish Google would just stay away from MCP? They manage to ruin everything.
bluSCALE4··on OpenAI Says It's "Over" If It Can't Steal All Your Copyrighted Work
No, he just means to say they are very different and if you disagree, you should think about it again.
bluSCALE4··on OpenAI asks White House for relief from state AI rules
Thank you for putting my sentiment into words. THIS. It's not power to the people, it's power to the oligarchs. Once you have enough power and, more importantly, wealth, you're welcomed into the fold with open arms. Just how Spotify build a library of stolen music, as long as wealth was created, there is no problem because wealth is just money taken from the people and given to the ruling class.
bluSCALE4··on OpenAI asks White House for relief from state AI rules
Wow, just wow.
bluSCALE4··on Mississippi Passes Bill Banning Lab-Grown Meat
Lost me on the second half.
bluSCALE4··on The "Take It Down" Act
No, it's not.
bluSCALE4··on The "Take It Down" Act
As an adult that self censors in America, that ship has long sailed.
bluSCALE4··on U.S. pauses all military aid to Ukraine
It blows my mind at how so many people think this is unprovoked and think we somehow have a responsibility to resolve this conflict.
bluSCALE4··on DARPA exploring growing bio structures of "unprecedented size" in microgravity
Zerg is a playable race in the game Starcraft. They are bio units where everything you build is biological.
bluSCALE4··on Tianjin Robot Incident Raises Alarm over Public Safety and Robotics
Terrifying. I get the sensation playing VR games and have robots swing at me. Don't enjoy it at all.
bluSCALE4··on Knowing CSS is mastery to front end development
The sad reality is that younger folks are too busy learning JS and backend devs just don't understand it. I've yet to learn new CSS patterns from anyone I've worked with in front end in the last 6 years. On the same note, I've worked on a few teams that have made backwards decisions and have chosen dead tools instead of embracing new CSS patterns. I think I have to take Ana Tudo, Lea Verou and Rachel Andrew for doing enough advocacy to keep my skillset relevant.
bluSCALE4··on Gene Hackman has died
I believe the most stressful part of IT is that the job itself is stressful at times. I believe that in most jobs, the job itself isn't stressful, it's the people and the stresses of life due to low pay.
bluSCALE4··on Instagram 'Error' Turned Reels into Scroll of Murder, Gore, and Violence
I watched a lot of gore videos in my pre-teen years and it's definitely good and bad. I don't regret it but I also have zero appetite for it now. I know a few people that still have a morbid curiosity for it but not for me. If it did ground once, it doesn't illicit anything positive anymore.
bluSCALE4··on Apple Invites
This isn't so simple. I love a lot of apps but I'm not willing to pay a monthly or yearly sub. I'll give you $5-$250 but I won't give you $5 a month.
