I’m not sure what the right balance is, and maybe this is the right balance.

I’m not sure what the right balance is, and maybe this is the right balance.
Beyond that, resistance training DOES combat stress. C’mon man. Some counter opinions just aren’t worth voicing.
What the hell does Firefox bring to the table? Sure they’re open source and “competition” to Google but come on… surely we can all see those aren’t features, they aren’t products, they’re bullet points.
Because its improper usage is devastating and harmful.
Instill values. The skills will come naturally.
"Misinformation" is probably one of the most abused phrases of our age. If we could even start by labeling misinformation properly, then maybe we could do something about it.
The point of a sovereign government is to serve the people—that's it. Keep them safe, keep things "fair" (to whatever degree that's possible), and to fight for the prolonged existence of said people. "Misinformation" hardly fits into that in its current state.
I find the argument that kids are going to unanimously ostracize another kid without an Instagram account very hard to believe. Kids _will_ be assholes for any reason under the sun, so it's not a question of will my kid have a hard time socially from time-to-time—that's just life.
Hobbies, social outlets, groups in the community—these are all ways to ensure your kids aren't socially stunted without giving them the emotional / mental equivalent of heroin.
Excuse me, what?
Is it also unrealistic to prevent your kids from doing hard drugs? Sure maybe you can’t control them past a certain age, but you certainly can AND SHOULD within a certain age time frame.
Social media has been shown to be so hazardous to developing youth’s mental health I think not only is it realistic, but you have a duty and an obligation do prevent your kids from using social media in an unrestricted manner.
My whole point is that a single system is not sufficiently safe to do what we're trying to do. The point of FSD isn't just to navigate without hitting stuff. The point is to do it with ~99.999% accuracy, ~99.999% of the time while flying down the road at 80 MPH.
Humans are _terrible_ at this, just check the deaths due to automobile accidents each year. We have some pretty amazing stereoscopic vision. But I don't like trusting my safety to another human, and I sure won't trust it to a machine whose vision isn't as good as mine.
For me to trust a machine, it needs to be an order of magnitude better than myself.
I think the Pure vision stuff is nifty, but “nifty” is the exact dead-last parameter when trying to transport my family safely from point A to point B.
I own several Apple devices primarily because the UX and ecosystem is so far beyond anything Android offers (in my opinion), that I’m simply not willing to switch. Of course, Apple’s anti-competitive behavior is a big reason for that.
But I’m not willing to hurt my own daily interactions with the tech that enables my life just because the US Government isn’t willing to do its job.
