blauekapelle··on ESA satellite dodges 'mega constellation'
ESA said they didn't ask spacex to move their sat, they just said they let them know. Spacex replied they had no intention to move their sat, since it was in deorbit testing.
blauekapelle··on ESA satellite dodges 'mega constellation'
That it was a single satellite, in de-orbit testing, was mentioned in the text of the article.

The register is a very reputable news site, known for their tabloid-parody style with crude jokes, but very good reporting. They've been around since 1994.

blauekapelle··on Opioid crisis: Johnson and Johnson hit by landmark ruling
the idea is that they were falsely marketed to doctors as being non-addictive, which meant docs then prescribed them without concern for potential addiction - ie not helping the patient stop the drug, prescribing them for too long.

in the UK you can buy cocodomol, which is an opioid painkiller over the counter. but it has huge text reading "no more than 3 days usage" becaues of addiction risk. it's like JJ said to docs, we got cocodomol, but you can prescribe them for months because we made them non-addictive, and that's the lie.

Different people respond differently to different things. What he says (reliable sleep being remarkably effective for improving attention and focus) is very true, and was also recommended to me as a treatment for my ADHD because medication didn't work for me. Reliable rest worked better for me. So what you said is just silly.
blauekapelle··on FreeBSD – A lesson in poor defaults
For context on "is FreeBSD any good?" > FreeBSD foundation has a list of testimonials from users of FreeBSD including Netflix, Whatsapp etc. Many security focused and trusted companies.

blauekapelle··on FreeBSD – A lesson in poor defaults
Not really, this guy is kinda missing the point of FreeBSD - which is stability not security. Many of these problems are overstated or non-issues for desktop systems. If you do have a need for any of the changes this guy is talking about, then you can make the change. If you just want max security, OpenBSD is a thing. But this list of complaints probably isn't much worse than many linux distros.
blauekapelle··on Public Domain Movies
Yeah it's one of my favourites. The old Sherlock Holmes are also amazing.

To add to this; all of the Soviet films are available on YouTube with good subtitles from an official channel. A really great one is "Ivan vassilievich changes occupation".
