Totally agree. My sister emails around lists of things to buy for my twin two-year-old nieces. Then she has to check with everyone to make sure there's no dup's, etc.

I'd love to see the ability to organize by child, so my sister, for example, could put items into either child's registry.

15" year-old Unibody Macbook Pro. 6 months ago I replaced the SuperDrive with an SSD - love it. 2 months ago, I picked up a refurb 24" Cinema display (~$649CAD, awesome price). I never realized what an impact that display would have on my desk, but I have far less crap on my desk now because of it.

TextMate, Versions, Terminal, Photoshop for Dev & Design work.

Nikon D90 - Usually my 12-24 f4 or 50 1.8 are on it. It's a great creative outlet that gets me away from my desk.

iPhone 3GS - Trying hard to wait till the next iPhone to upgrade.

I've stopped myself from buying domains for projects. I also force myself to let a domain expire if I don't use it within a year. It's extra motivation to shit or get off the pot.

We use Trunks (http://www.trunksapp.com) to host our SVN repos, then have post-commit hook fire an HTTP request to the production staging server to check out the latest revision.

We manually initiate an export from the live server, although we likely will look in the commit message for a keyword (like [live]) and initiate from there.

I'm curious - why XP with VS for IE debugging? IE6?

I've been using Win7 and IE developer tools, switching between 7 & 8 for testing and it's been working out pretty good lately.

You don't need to pay to make apps - you can download XCode free (in fact, it comes with every Mac, no download necessary). Paying gives you access to additional support, OSX betas, etc
