This is part of why some people don't get out more... the creepy people watchers.
Maybe someone in the near future will create an analog to the first person shooter, a first person labeler, that will keep some of these folks on the couch.

Roughly 72 per cent of the participants (79 women and 113 men) had already been diagnosed as nondiabetic. The other participants (18 women and 57 men) had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
All participants recorded a phrase six times per day for two weeks, resulting in a total of 18,000 recordings. The scientists then pinpointed 14 acoustic differences between those with and without type 2 diabetes."
EDIT: the sabotage may already be happening... the NYT iPad seems extremely slow and buggy.
What happens when a candidate shows up with their parents? Is it a 15 minute and show them the door, or do you assume you are being recorded and tread carefully?
Learning how the Excel model worked and then reimplementing it would have been a better example of 'getting better at using your skills to create business value'.

I think you're right. Her relatives were hoping she would guess that they didn't want her to bring the kids.
"... Here is a good subject for an argument or debate: Are we any happier with all these inventions than people were a thousand years ago without them?
Life is faster and more exciting; but it is more difficult and more dangerous. Instead of enjoying a book curled up in the corner of a sofa by a crackling fire, we leave a steam radiator and go out to the movies. Instead of singing or playing the violin, we turn on the graphophone or the player-piano and miss the chief joy in music, the joy of making it ourselves. Instead of the jogging drive in an old buggy behind a horse that goes along through the country-side almost by himself, we speed on in dangerous autos, to which we must pay constant, undivided attention or be wrecked..."

Soon after, you may be afraid to embrace your newly developed intuition about baby’s needs out of respect for traditional parenting roles.
Then there will be something else… there will always be something you find to worry about, most of which won’t matter at all.

"Many of the numbers that measure the performance of hitters, pitchers and fielders are familiar to every fan. But now attention is being turned to a genus of baseball creature rarely examined through statistics: the manager, who sets the lineups, calls for hit-and-runs and otherwise turns the cranks of in-game strategy.
Aside from won-lost records, few metrics quantify what these men actually do and the tendencies they exhibit. But an associate professor of statistics at Swarthmore College is trying to set that right, quite literally putting a face on managerial performance.
The mathematician, Steve C. Wang, applied a method called Chernoff faces, in which data points in many dimensions are presented in a form that people react to more intuitively: the human face."
Nice one Andrej!
