Having come from a quasi socialist dictatorship and being a foreign born Hispanic ,I would fight for the right of the racist idiots to post there idiotic comments. You fight ignorance with education and rational debate, not with censorship.
It appears that Elon wants to treat Adults as Adults and let them make up their own minds. Unless you are bad at adulting this shouldn't be a negative, but a positive. Let me make up my own mind and don't have a Corporate Oligarch and a Gov't riddled with conflict of interest spoon feed me or use group think bullying to shape society based on Tech Oligarch morality and political believes.
Also with all the talk of racism and sexism in the work place , especially by the Big Tech companies, they should have done this long ago.
Well they would have if they had truly cared about minorities versus creating a bigger labor pool to drop pay rates or create faux PR for their companies and industries.
Irregardless of what Joe says about himself and the show being nothing more than a bunch of idiotic guys talking, the truth of the matter is he does have credible and subject matter experts come on his show and talk and give their viewpoint on their area of expertise.
However when those experts come on and they go against the MSM narrative then the focus becomes about Joe and his silly tactics as a way to dismiss or downplay the counter views for some.
The general public rightfully has a very low trust of the gov't and this certainly adds more validity to their distrust.
However with this they should be fully transparent with any and all vaccine related data as they are already suffering from credibility concerns when it comes to vaccine.
It also depends on the cost of the product and the PITA it would be to return if defective on how deep I go into looking a the low to mid range reviews.
If there is a pattern of failure ,quality, or issues and its not worth dealing with I wont buy the product. Also if the issues are common among vendors or products then I go with the cheapest. Why pay more if they are all crap or just as risky to buy and it sets a more accurate expectation of the product.
I also typically ignore the negative reviews complaining about the package arriving damaged or late as that can happen with anything as long as I don't need it by a certain date.
I also look for customer pictures of the product if available.
Having worked for IBM and being a client of IBM in the past with large gov't agencies , i can also tell you that part of their success is liability perspective from the client. I know many of gov't big wigs who simply hired IBM not because of their talent but because if TSHTF they covered their arses with congressional hearing or lawsuits by saying what more could we do than hiring the vendor that made the product.
This , I had to do this with Comcast because of their craptastic service ,BS, and invalid billing. Trying to cancel them I kept being passed around to ALL the wrong people and departments, hung up on, refusal to give confirmation that the service was actually cancelled. Finally figured the only way they would cancel my service was to write a complaint to the FCC.
Sure enough just a few days later comcast called and apologized and cancelled my service as requested and fixed the hundreds of dollars of wrongful billing.
Firefox has always been a resource hog and crash prone for me on just about any system. Although I use it primarily for some of its features and prefer it over chrome.
Interesting enough I had the displeasure of getting acquired by IBM and the first yr not bad. By year 2 to 3 and being fully converted to IBM culture I can tell you that most of the original employees of the company bought out had all left willing.
I left as well and I couldn't be happier. By far working as a senior level (forgot what band now) engineering consultant for them was one of the worst experience with a company.
They even tried to use legal action to prevent me from switching to another company. They also tried to stall me and BS me long enough for the offer to go away.
I gave them a chance and they matched the offer and terms. 6 months later IBM tried to change the terms of our agreement thinking the other offer was gone and I was at their mercy.
What they didn't know was the other company had been pursuing me for years so I called them and asked if they were still interested. They said yes and I took it. Put in my 2 weeks and IBM tried to stop it with legal actions. Luckily they weren't successful. They even wanted to go after the other company for pursuing me and asking who was the contact. I never told them who it was and said thanks but no thanks I'm out.
IBM was a horrible unethical company to work for IMO.
Run if you can and run early before the max exodus that is surely to come and your industry is flooded.
The funny thing was the day we found out that IBM bought us out one of my colleagues quit right on the spot. Myself and our supervisor at the time were surprised and thinking he was crazy to quit with out even giving them a try. Looking back now I would do the exact same thing if I were to find out IBM purchased our company.
I don't recall ever hearing anything positive from any of my IBM colleagues before, during, or after I left. Actually many former IBMrs called me trying to get out. It was the only company where I had worked at that had a constant bad juju feel about it and inundated with negativity from all the employees.
With other companies that bought us out the process was the same: yr 1 no changes, 2 little changes , 3 you are the new company. I actually stayed with the other companies , the only one I left was IBM. So the acquisition itself doesn't mean that it has to be a negative thing. In my situation the only time it was negative was with IBM.
Exactly my thought. US gov't even outsources to private contractors that then subcontract and outsource to China for electronic components including chips that can easily end up in our DOD systems. I wonder if this is more of a money or market thing being pushed by the Existing Oligopoly?
Something doesn't appear to add up completely?
He also has a line up of books, movies, films , and documentaries to sell. This smells like a marketing tactic with convenient timing to get some hype and buzz going with the fringe sciences.
however , the ISP market is a market hated by its cutomer base for decades. So you got to ask why hasnt this been done before at a reasonable scale or more often?
Didnt even google fiber run into epic hurdles due to monopolistic regulations setup by the telcom oligarch?
if Google fiber struggled how is a small startup going to be able to play?
I'm skeptical in the success of this , but i will be folowing and possibly get involved and hope they succeed.
LOL , it has a happened with numerous friends and family members of mine, that have tried to cancel their service.
Forwarded the FCC complaint in an email to comcast and within a day got a response .A few days later they acknowledged that I was erroneously billed 600 bucks and that they actually owed me 10 bucks.
Good thing these people are now going to be our internet gatekeepers.
Money overcomes political ideals or the interest of those with less money.

"Report by researchers from Princeton and Northwestern universities suggests that US political system serves special interest organisations, instead of voters "
LOL, somebody actually down voted stating that 47,008 have signed so far?
In reality when the democrats get back control Net Neutrality will unlikely be brought back. Just like the Republicans did with Obmacare. They labeled it the anti-christ of all regulations then they get full control and they do nothing.
The DNC and the GOP are just tools of the lobbyist to keep the people distracted , separated, and appeased to think they still have a voice.

To bad people have become political cheerleaders that care more about their party and ego then the country or holding their own party accountable.
Republican and Democrat political cheerleaders is a big reason we have lost our gov't along with people being to stupid to focus on the REAL issue versus distractions such as healthcare, welfare ,taxes, racism, sexism, sexuality, religion, heck even net neutrality.
The only issue we should be talking about is 1. term limits in congress. 2. Closing revolving doors. 3. Reforming lobbying 4. Reforming fund raising. 5. Real transparency.
you cant expect a bunch of people with conflict of interest to do the right thing for anyone but themselves.
https://www.pcmag.com/news/350979/comcast-is-americas-most-h... BTW sprint is also listed among the most hated.
I'm assuming you are referring to mesh type networks, in which case the hurdle is not technological but rather legal and political.
Once a mesh network becomes a valid competitor , they will create and enforce laws to hold people responsible for traffic going through their devices (ie kiddie P0rn and other illegal activities) .
They will also create and enforce anti encryption laws to prevent that as a loophole.
The challenge for mesh or decentralized networks will not be technical, it will legal and political which doesn't end well for the consumer.
That collusion would be no different than what is occurring today among the ISP. They have non written agreements to not compete with each other in certain areas , hence the lack of competition. This is how they can stay in business despite being rated the most hated companies in the US year after year by their own customers. Only way that can happen is if you are the only game in town (monolopy)
This is only branching out their arrangement to now include the existing Online Oligarch as well.
Its not looking good
Last time during the title 2 classification we the people had the Online Oligarch on our side. Not because Google, netflix , and amazon cared about the people, but because out of their own survival. Had net neutrality principles been killed then Google, netflix, and Amazon would have been at the mercy of the customers ISP.
What worries me now is that I don't see the same level of efforts by the Big online Oligarch, this time around. Heck, even google has slowed their google fiber business.
I think we are seeing the creation of one of the biggest Oligarch alliance in the making.
I wonder if the ISP oligarch and the online Oligarch have come to an agreement where they will not compete with each other.
In other words Comcast won't go into the streaming business, search business , social media business, merchant business as long as Netflix, google, facebook, twitter, and Amazon pay them a percentage. In return comcast will throttle the existing Online Oligarchs competition.
Its a win for both the ISP and now the Online Oligarch. the end result doesn't change the consumers get Fd and now will be at the mercy of both the ISP oligarch and the Online Oligarch.
