bestdayever··on Project Tango
Hey I found an article about you. http://www.theonion.com/articles/911-truther-vows-not-to-res...
bestdayever··on Why is broadband more expensive in the US?
US ISPs regularly get government subsidies. Hell they took 200 billion to start building fiber in 1996, then they didn't do it.
bestdayever··on The future of Fiber
You are comparing a free service where they are up front about their plans to a pay for service which doesn't detail any plans you describe. I have to ask, do you think they would?
bestdayever··on Steam's VAC reads all the domains you visited
Generally any VAC update is met with a full dump fairly quickly on most sites.

Not knowing random pop culture references makes you an idiot these days, interesting.
bestdayever··on Silk Road 2 Hacked, All Bitcoins Stolen
I think the idea would be that you would withdraw from escrow, manipulate the transaction to change the transaction id (which they shouldn't be relying on if they use bitcoind and makes the whole thing kinda fishy) then when SR can't find the transaction it assumes it failed and sends again or he opens a ticket saying he never got his funds and they send them again manually.

bestdayever··on 67 Signals hasn't changed a thing
This comment was almost as funny as the site!
bestdayever··on 67 Signals hasn't changed a thing
I dunno, 37s got pretty childish on twitter. I think this is a lose lose situation, both parties look like amateurs.
bestdayever··on Verizon Using Recent Net Neutrality Victory to Wage War Against Netflix?
>Google Fiber is the worst idea ever. You know this company makes the vast majority of its income through advertising and collecting data about you, right?

You never actually made a point here, do you have one? Obviously google makes money through advertising so getting you fast internet allows you to see more ads, is that a bad trade off?

bestdayever··on Who wants competition? Big cable tries outlawing municipal broadband in Kansas
They offered those same deals to any ISP that wanted to offer the same services, guess how many offered?
bestdayever··on Printable True Bugs Wait Posters
A lot of older pregnancy awareness campaigns were all about abstinence in the USA. It is only recently that people have realized it doesn't work and things have been changing to advocating condom use etc.
bestdayever··on Wozniak: “Actually, the movie was largely a lie about me”
>And yet, who else in modern history has driven as many companies to such such success, and lead the creation of so many great products?

Elon musk?

bestdayever··on AMD launches Kaveri processors aimed at starting a computing revolution
They're making gaming their focus it seems and that is the go to gamer chip hands down.

bestdayever··on IntelliJ IDEA 13 Brings a Full Bag of Goodies to Android Developers
Like maybe idea 13? That's how we do it at least.

How is this useless comment at the top?
bestdayever··on The truth about fracking? An oilfield engineer seeks to reassure you
>Hydraulic fracturing is not contaminating drinking water. These fractures are being created about 6,000 feet below the surface. That’s four Empire State Buildings stacked on top of each other between the aquifer and the hydraulic fracture. If anything is going to risk the integrity of the drinking water, point the figure at the construction of the well, the steel and concrete barrier that is built to isolate that aquifer from a flowing well.

Don't the companies doing the fracking usually build these barriers? How is it not their fault if they don't hold.

bestdayever··on My embarrassing picture went viral
>Lastly, have to ask, is obesity a specific US sensitivity? Seems from my POV that there is a hell of a lot of excuse making for obesity in the US that does not happen else where. Any suggestion that its the persons own doing, eating badly and not exercising, is stamped on like its some sort of heresy. Where as here its pretty much the accepted reason.

Well there are a lot of obese people here. They even get handicap placards at this point, its recognized as a disease etc. They're 1 step short of becoming a protected group.

bestdayever··on Chromebook Developer Setup Guide
I think the thing that has always held me back from finally pulling the trigger on A chromebook pixel is the fact that you have to dismiss the "developer mode" popup everytime you boot. I guess that is a bit of a nitpick though and it otherwise seems like a solid machine.
bestdayever··on Twitch rides video game streaming wave to global success
This isn't necessarily twitch's fault. I know there were issues with AT&T in my area related to twitch and AT&T refused to help alleviate the issue until they got a ton of complaints. It seems similar to the struggles netflix sees with some ISPs
bestdayever··on FBI raids alleged online drug market Silk Road, arrests owner
In previous postings DPR has indicated he inherited the site from the original owner, it would be funny if he knew they were closing in and sent the phony papers to the first DPR in an effort to give himself some time to escape.

bestdayever··on Meet the Dread Pirate Roberts, the man behind Silk Road
Or he could easily have stolen the book recommendations from absolutely anywhere on the damn planet. Also who cares if he posted on bitcointalk, also do you honestly believe he has a facebook or if he does do you honestly believe there is any overlap between the 2 personas? If so, your recent silk road purchase must have been a humdinger.

bestdayever··on Legal Weed is Hurting San Francisco's Hippies
There is probably some differences but most of the carcinogens should be in both. A consequence of burning plant material AFAIK. Maybe somebody better versed in the subject can chime in.
