can you see why this rhetoric is tiring?
translation: "we want you to work harder and spend 2 hours a day commuting to an uncomfortable office to make us more money"
this seems to exist everywhere? no matter the stated the mission, no one is owning a business to not make money off it
the US government is already overwhelmingly something that is structured by and for the benefit of corporations
PACs are the method of bribery in American politics. Anyone can contribute in unlimited amounts. The other is donations to foundations owned by the politician, and of course speaking fees.
Nuclear is extremely price competitive if you actually force carbon producing power generation methods to pay to clean up the pollution they emit. Which is something we require of nuclear but for some reason not any other.
> long-term storage of radioactive waste still lacks a proper solution despite decades of work.
This is both a solved problem and also a non-problem. Advanced nuclear reactor designs have effectively zero waste.
> It's a dead technology, and the time has come to stop wasting resources on trying to make it work when those could be used much more productively to accelerate the move towards renewables
It's not dead?
A soft paywall that can be removed by modifying HTML elements on a page doesn't seem like an actual control for copyrighted material, since the server has already provided you the entirety of the copywritten work and it exists on your computer in plain text (within markup). That they're choosing to do that is on them. I am lawfully accessing their website and how I interact with the local copy of data that they send me is 100% my business as long as I'm not redistributing it.
Heroku did the same thing to me for same reason - completely shut down my entire account with several revenue generating websites with zero notice.
I feel like this is silly. The daily events of my life - waking up, using the restroom, driving a car, the work that I do all day, the conversations I have - all have an extremely close resemblance to the same actions almost everyone else does every single day. My exact explicit experiences are a minuscule fraction of all experiences, but they're extremely representative of how life and the world works for a billion other people.
