published data standards having version is so wrong.

now if you see "config in yaml" you know nothing, zero, nada, about the format because all versions are so different and everyone implemented the version at the time and didn't bother to mention version. not to mention you can use a dozen syntaxes for yaml/toml and each application may not understand them all.

all this is so silly. we will stick with json and informal-ini forever one way or another.

Yahoo finance is really rock bottom under new management... they published a press release email simply copy pasting the entire thing.

they even left the press release email signature on the bottom.

it's funny how people blindly trust these "private chat" apps. there's zero reason for this trust, yet so many people fall for it.

whatsapp is the same, but based in the us so the bribes are much more expensive.

signal have the benefit of the doubt thanks to mox background. as in their employees might be corrupted, but i think mox would code proper support tools and look at database logs for employee abuse of access. matrix is minimaly verifiable but they are moving at neck breaking speed which makes them ripe for exploit by bad actors.

ironically, the best method remains plain text email plus pgp.
