So why aren't the frontier models not working that way yet?
My thinking is: If AI is really smart, AGI smart for some, why wouldn't it be able to understand - over time - what is appropriate and what not?
Maybe we need more human intervention to train it properly. Maybe we need constant intervention by a "police" agent.
But go and talk to small companies. What they are able to pull off is just incredible. More features in shorter time. Improved UX and client satisfaction.
On a society level 6 months is nothing. This will take about 10 years to penetrate all organizations I assume.
If we are talking about human labor, how many people hack their way through their work day?
I have found that in most cases you can simply ask people about their motives. Most often than not those motives and intentions are very different from your prior.
It’s not easy but developing a habit of "blank slating" is quite useful for inner peace.

Humans have a machinery reinforcing their world view. Contradicting observations and facts are usually ignored or interpreted such that it matches their already held opinions.
It may sound weird but OODA starts making sense once you’ve identified the right problem to focus on.
In its original definition it was based on dogfights. There, your problem is clearly defined.
