This introduction crystalized a lot of the subject/debates around that time to me: https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/13108434.pdf
baxrob··on The Meme Machine (1999)
"These are all examples of groups of memes that are replicated together. Dawkins calls such groups ‘coadapted meme complexes’, a phrase recently abbreviated to ‘memeplexes’ (Speel 1995). Memetic jargon is changing so fast and much of it is so poorly thought out and so misused that I shall try to avoid using it. However, ‘memeplex’ is a handy word for an important concept and so it is one of the few new words I shall adopt." -- page 35

From trying to read about this years ago, I always remember the "Ent" and the "Enfilade" being Ted Nelson's abstractions for supporting bi-directional linking

baxrob··on Tauri – toolchain for building secure native apps that have tiny binaries
I've been following the webview project for a few months. It works for me to avoid Electron, and is pretty interesting on the whole I think
baxrob··on Tauri – toolchain for building secure native apps that have tiny binaries
It looks like they've moved things around, but as I understand it the Rust bindings C/C++ code is derived from https://github.com/webview/webview/ which uses WebKitGTK
baxrob··on Tauri – toolchain for building secure native apps that have tiny binaries
I haven't tried tauri itself, but both it and neutralino use the underlying "webview" C library https://github.com/webview/webview/tree/0.1.1

I think this is the clearest explanation of the current webview implementation: https://github.com/webview/webview/issues/305

Anslem of suckless explains in a conference video that it was basically the domain name they ended up with that got traction though not everybody liked it to begin with. Which kindof sucks in itself but you know..
