Leading to us always creating laws and rarely removing them.
You have similar gender gaps in nursing as well.
Does this not mean we have a gender bias towards females in STEM at the education level?
If so it’d turn around a long held belief that STEM education is biased towards men. At least in grade school.
On the flip side. The CCP has been committing a genocide by UN standards and has previously admitted to organ harvesting.
I highly suspect we’ll see a switch from intel to arm in the server space in next 5-10 years.
The cloud vendors have so much to gain by building their own arm chips.
And California has relatively dry mild weather.
And we are talking about a 1.5 million dollar house in Bay Area being 1000 sqr ft with insurance rebuild cost of 300k+.
Chance of needing a rebuild are very, very, low.
With interest rates at 3%, property tax fixed to track inflation for life thnx to prop 13, and California home insurance stupidly low (50$/month for 1+ million house). It’s not that bad.
I did the math and owning is cheaper than renting in just a few years.
Same thing that brought down intel.
Like intel (of the past). You can coast and the money will keep coming in. Up until it doesn’t.
Snowflake & BigQuery get the ability to have multiple customers on a large cluster.
It’d be cost prohibitive for a single smaller customer to have all that compute sitting idle for a few queries per minute.
Storage also benefits as snowflake/ BQ can shard your data across a much larger array of disk giving you better IO.
Think is it faster to drive a car 100 ft starting at 0mph and flooring it. Or to drive 100ft with a car which starts off doing 120mph
All the party schools with questionable degree value must also be hurting
The fire tablet is using the android os
They often only pay the manufacturers after its sold. And sometimes don’t return the units which don’t sell
By lived I do mean no changes to end user for the absorption into another team.
Yeah I’m going to pass. This will just be deprecated in the near future.
I see a future indoor co2 sequestration device being incredibly popular
Afford might be poor choice of word though
So much culture left sf to Oakland due to cost. As SF rent gets cheaper, I suspect we’ll see art, food, and activism jobs come back.
You’d need 1.5 million of these to remove just the USA’s yearly co2 emissions.

I still don’t get why google deprecated me as a customer. Google’s churn is exhausting. Starting to want the “Microsoft” & “Apple” experience of it just works.
I miss google play music and Spotify style discovery.
Curious how you found Spotify to compare to YouTube music. As google play music was deprecated.
I had an engineering ethics course where we discussed sensitive issues such as a medical radiology device which accidentally delivered 10x the dose due to sticky keyboard keys.
Taught me how to ask the right questions. How to capture requirements and learn on my own.
Top Universities aren’t their to teach. They are their to empower you to teach yourself and explore deep in areas. While also learning the fundamentals that are necessary for this enablement.
That is drastically different than the average ranked schools.
They are right that it probably doesn’t make sense to pay top dollar for this spot when other spaces in east bay, South Bay and Seattle are cheaper with access to same talent.
The Bay Area will still thrive but sf proper-city will have a rough time
