banderon··on 2dumb2destroy
an AI trained on all the dumbest stuff on the internet (Homer Simpson quotes, Pauly Shore screenplays, that one bodybuilding forum where they argued about how many days there were in the week, etc). It's the first AI you don't have to fear will steal your job.
banderon··on Allthenticate
I thought these guys were a lastpass/august competitor, but they are so much more! Plans to replace all authentication and authorization with your phone! I saw a user had his phone connecting to his car, the door to his office, and then log him in to his laptop. Very cool, indeed!
banderon··on It looks like Google’s going to launch a podcast app
What the hell took them so long? I've tried 20 times to get into podcasts but there's a severe lack of usable apps to easily have access to them.
banderon··on Carpe Data
I'm hoping this company can do something new and "disrupt" the monolithic insurance companies of olden days. Any insights?

And if you have big pockets, get the Ledger Blue, right?
banderon··on Gloveone: The haptic glove to feel and touch real virtual reality
After reading "Ready Player One", I've been hoping for haptic gloves to be a reality. These aren't quite there yet, but I like that there is something out there. Is anybody aware of other haptic tech out there that will enhance VR?
banderon··on Surround 360 is now open source
How much would it cost to make one?
banderon··on Docopt–language for description of command-line interfaces
The presenter does a great job making CLI applications with a few python packages. Pretty entertaining!

I've been considering getting the drone that is compatible with oculus headset. That looks like it would be fun for a few hours, at least!
banderon··on Niantic Labs splitting from Google
Thanks, I had no idea about the reference!
banderon··on Niantic Labs splitting from Google
I haven't seen Ingress get to the front page since I joined, so I needto take this opportunity to shout out to my fellow resistance crew!
banderon··on Show HN: Free Company Autocomplete API
I work for credibility.com (https://credibility.com/search), and we get our data from Dun & Bradstreet. Our search seems to have more results (~18MM docs).
banderon··on Reddit has shut down its nascent cryptocurrency project
Only 125 days since I posted this: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8390136. I thought it was a cool idea... but I also thought BTC was a worthy investment at $400.
banderon··on Kraftwerk Is a Power Plant That Fits in the Palm of Your Hand
Here's the actual link to the kickstarter:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/265641170/kraftwerk-hig...

$99 for the initial release of the product, which will be Feb. 2016 (if you are lucky with kickstarter campaigns). I thought it was cool that they have a bulk package, selling 111 of the kraftwerks for the price of 100 (all sold out)!

banderon··on Reddit Announces RedditNotes, a Way to Share Equity with Readers

banderon··on Twitter given junk credit rating – Standard and Poor’s issues BB- score
I'd love to see some perspective from other high-profile, low revenue internet companies. Twitter can't be the worst of them, right?
banderon··on Martin Aircraft Company – Pre-IPO Opportunity
There are a few hoops to jump through if you're not from AUS/NZ, but I think this company is doing amazing things. I can't wait for them to get enough funding to mass produce these!
banderon··on Wal-Mart's Answer to Apple Pay, CurrentC
I was hoping that Apple Pay would open the doors to NFC payments, but I didn't realize it would create such a mess!
banderon··on Google Inbox
I'm not sure if you have any invites left, but if you do, here is a link to the support page that has directions on sharing an invite:

https://support.google.com/inbox/answer/6067582?p=invite_req...

Once you get Inbox, you'll have invites to send to your friends. Here's how to send an invite:

1. Open Inbox. 2. In the bottom right, go to the Create button . 3. Choose Invite to Inbox .

If you could do that for me, I would be grateful! (banderon1 "at" gmail "dot" com)

banderon··on Netflix down 26% after hours
What's crazy is that the dip happened after an 85% spike in profits! http://techcrunch.com/2014/10/15/netflix-stock-price-crashes...
banderon··on Ask HN: What is HN reading?
I started reading "Atlas Shrugged" after reading about Peter Thiel's libertarian views. I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
banderon··on Removing the Docker IT Operations Bottleneck – StackEngine
I think that once a company comes by and has good documentation and examples of what Docker can do, it's going to blow up. An example more than "Hello World", I think it would be helpful to see how you can install/configure apache and deploy an application hosted on github.
banderon··on Show HN: We've been working on this idea, would love feedback
How is this different than TalkTo? What is the business model here?
banderon··on Imgur Raises $40 Million From Andreessen Horowitz and Reddit
I've subscribed to the Imgur feed for years, this is good news.
banderon··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (March 2014)
Malibu, CA - Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. (No remotes) www.dandb.com

We are currently looking for senior java and php developers. Mention my name (Brian Anderson), and we can split the referral bonus if you get hired!
