bageljr··on How to copy a file between devices? (2022)
It's a work in progress but here: https://github.com/bagel897/rustdrop
bageljr··on How to improve Python packaging
Well who is upstream? Pypa? Python steering council? Python itself won't do much without pypa approval. Pypa won't endorse an existing or new tool that solves most mainstream cases well.
bageljr··on How to improve Python packaging
I think it's crazy how they don't want to change cause it'd disrespect the work of maintainers of existing projects. Python packaging is screwed if maintaining all packaging software at the cost of functionality is the goal

no it very much isn't use without restriction - you must credit the the author and otherwise follow the licensee. I can't copy and republish code from the Nvidia driver leaks because those are copyrighted by Nvidia (unless I have permission from them). In the same way you cannot copy and republish code from a MIT project unless I have permission from them (via the MIT licensee).
bageljr··on SWATed streamer Keffals to organise protest in front of Cloudflare SF office
1. Oh I see, didn't know that. 2. Sure its an expected number, but its ridiculous that there would be literally 0 deaths given 50,000 people (this was 2012, so I expect it would have grown).

1. They use they/them pronouns

2. The original claim, being that Near commited suicide due to Kiwi Farm, was documented in the link two comments up.

As another commenter said, the government records state that no US citizen died at all in Japan in June 2021. This is of course a bit ridiculous given that 50,000+ people live there and 10-12 people die per 1000 people per month in Japan. This means that around 500 US citizens should have died in Japan that month. Obviously, the US government doesn't have to account for literally all its citizens dying for any cause anywhere, just the important ones.

bageljr··on EU approves legislation to regulate Apple, Google, Meta, and other tech firms
Isn't that a good thing? Like I'm a full time firefox user but what you're saying is "Google and Apple will fund development of web browsers/engines that support new APIs to outcompete each other"
bageljr··on The bottom is dropping out of Netflix
Gecko isn't google its Mozilla, all you have to do is change the search engine. But the rest is all correct
bageljr··on Python’s “type hints” are a bit of a disappointment to me
Actually depending on the LSP, you are using a type checker since Pyright is its own type checker and Pylsp has a mypy plugin
