badcoder72684··on GM and Ford, Driving to Beat Tesla, Turn on Each Other
Musk has gone from huge asset to liability. Trying to appeal to the party that officially denies climate change is real and blames wind/solar for grid problems does not help sales of expensive electric cars and solar panels.

IMO musk squandered his first-mover advantage. He should have moved down-market years ago, maybe with a different brand and made Tesla the "halo".

China is eating everyone's lunch with newer, far cheaper LFP prismatic batteries that telsa should have adopted half decade ago. Tesla is still using Lithium Ion NMC even for cheapest models when the world moved on long time ago.

badcoder72684··on Genes and family are biggest predictor of academic success
Sad conclusion the opposite of what you would think from the headline

> However, the research suggests that having the genes for school success is not as beneficial as having parents who are highly educated and wealthy. Only 47% of children in the study sample with a high genetic propensity for education but a poorer background made it to university, compared with 62% with a low genetic propensity but parents that are more affluent.

TLDR: being born to a rich family matters more than anything innate as far as educational success.

This is a great sales pitch for free college, at least for the poor.

This is incredible! It would be the front page if HN hadn't become Reddit 2.0

Great work!

I'm kinda sad nobody has replied in hours :( . My dad was an ELE and this is beyond the quality of most professional work as far as research and implementation.

As a dev that knows electronics fairly well, your project is great OP

> What should be the default on every networking device is a two-stage commit where the second stage requires a new TCP connection.

OpenWRT router distribution has had this for years, it's amazing! (As is OpenWRT)

OpenWRT also has SQM CAKE which saved my sanity on parents DSL connection for years. As far as congestion control and bandwidth sharing goes, nothing else compares
