backtoyoujim··on Some Blizzard employees are dreading BlizzCon
good and good.

a lot of the blizzard developer interactions with players at blizzcon has been the developers acting like condescending, down-talking jerks to players during q&a.

let's see those egos take what they like to dish out.

i believe that it requires an account with amazon.

backtoyoujim··on How Amazon Rebuilt Itself Around Artificial Intelligence
It is the inverse of Dunne's description of the free press; Amazon's job, it seems then, is to afflict the afflicted and comfort the comfortable.

> , a Nobel laureate in economics, said recently that bitcoin "ought to be outlawed” because it’s designed to evade regulation and "doesn’t serve any socially useful function."

A world where if something is not required it is forbidden is not a world that I want any part of Nobel winner or otherwise.

backtoyoujim··on Call for the Resignation of FCC Chairman Ajit Varadaraj Pai

backtoyoujim··on Stop Using Excel, Finance Chiefs Tell Staffs
I agree. Excel files prolly should not be distributed using the same method as a freshly-out-of-the-ditto-machine dictaphone memo from 1967.

And the premise that things have changed enough to warrant reevaluating worn out business processes like Mr. Bell's here is true enough.

But dumping a tool because some out of touch C-level tool says so is a recipe for huge traction loss.

I mean ... people that use nail-guns for a living still have to use hammers.

backtoyoujim··on Anonymous LLC
in WA state

https://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/search_detail.aspx?ubi=

with a UBI will tell the agent and the governor(s) of the LLC.

If you use the current search function on the SOS website like this one :

https://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/search_results.aspx?ubi=

then you get a group of listing with a click through that does not list the governor(s).

Weird quirk.

Thank you. I'm not trying to make one. I am just trying to get a better handle on how RF is used. Thanks again.
backtoyoujim··on Is Amazon getting too big?
No, you are wrong.

It refers to when a headline asks a question ... then the answer must be no.

Because if it was yes ... the newspaper wouldn't form it into a question the newspaper would state it as fact.

If the owner knows that ... he might be sharp enough to use it to his advantage.

backtoyoujim··on Inside Andy Rubin's Quest to Create an OS for Everything
I wonder if he is using wireless cameras because I have an uneducated theory that I would like a smart person here to destroy. So please forgive my lack of knowledge here.

If I made a device that amplified the RF signal from a wifi router ... made it like it had the rf signal power output would that device be capable of "drowning out" other wifi transmitters ... making a wifi camera incapable of seeing its base station ?

backtoyoujim··on Ravens OL John Urschel, 26, retires abruptly, two days after CTE study
Trying to watch NFL reminds me of the moment in "Django Unchained" when we meet diCaprio's character sitting in a chair watching to slaves beat each other to death.

That moment of that movie comes to me every time the TV producers cut to the team owner sitting in their fancy box in their fancy chair paying lots of African American men to beat each other up for our entertainment and profit.
