babaganoosh89··on Ask HN: What Is the State of App Development in 2026?
It's incredibly easy to make apps nowadays, it's all about distribution (usually on social media).
babaganoosh89··on Anthropic downgraded cache TTL on March 6th
It's not just you, there is a github issue for it: https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/42796

babaganoosh89··on 404 Deno CEO not found
Truth of the matter is Ryan Dahl is a suboptimal CEO. Being able to build good open source software does not have a strong correlation with being able to build a successful business.
babaganoosh89··on Cockpit is a web-based graphical interface for servers
What you're looking for is Dokploy. It's much better than it's predecessors like Dokku, CapRover, etc.
babaganoosh89··on What Claude Code chooses
Redux should not be used for 1 person projects. If you need redux you'll know it because there will be complexity that is hard to handle. Personally I use a custom state management system that loosely resembles RecoilJS.
babaganoosh89··on FLUX.2: Frontier Visual Intelligence
Flux 2 Dev is not IP censored
babaganoosh89··on How to Get Rich (2019)
Freedom != time spent, it's time spent on your own terms.
babaganoosh89··on Split Your Overwhelmed Teams: Two teams of five is not same as one team of ten
+1 for specialization, in my experience working on a fullstack team is significantly more painful than having a specialized role. Of course it’s partially because you have to learn a bunch of stuff, but I’ve also found that fullstack teams tend to have poor planning, e.g. it’s structured as fullstack to constantly fill gaps in a not well defined project / roadmap. Fullstack is good experience if you want to do your own projects / startup, but not a peaceful job.
babaganoosh89··on Unloved by generations of soldiers, the MRE finds a fan base
Chili Mac is the best flavor IMO, especially if you combine the cheese spread with it.
babaganoosh89··on Dummy display for Apple Silicon Macs to achieve custom resolutions
For those asking why this is useful:

Mac mini's without a monitor hooked up can only display at a certain aspect ratio while remote screen sharing. The typical solution is to use a dummy hdmi plug (~$10) plus an app like SwitchResX (~$20) to support custom screen resolutions.

If OP's app works as described, then this is a free software solution to a $30 problem.

babaganoosh89··on EdgelessDB: A Database Designed for Confidential Computing
If the reverse happened, no doubt Microsoft would be sending cease and desists to edgedb.
babaganoosh89··on Docker Desktop no longer free for large companies
So using the CLI is still free on Mac, just not the gui desktop app?
babaganoosh89··on Is 5% a reasonable cut for a middle-man when selling shares privately?
5% is common for private stock market place like forge global. Often they charge the buyer 5% too.
babaganoosh89··on Penny hoarders hope for the day the penny dies (2014)
It's so if the money ever gets captured by the enemy it isn't usable.
babaganoosh89··on Ask HN: How has your life goals change post 30?
+1 well said.
babaganoosh89··on Blockchain Is Puny
It's as evil as you think the centralized authority is now or will be in the future. Some will also argue any entity having complete power over your life is inherently evil.
babaganoosh89··on Rethinking Triplebyte
80% of the leads I get from hired aren't too great. But the other 20% are quality.
babaganoosh89··on Rethinking Triplebyte
Agreed, I recently used Hired and TripleByte. Hired gave me 2-3x more leads, and they were on avg much higher quality.
babaganoosh89··on U.S. Fed accepts $756B in daily reverse repo operation
That's what 0% interest rates are like. Limitless amounts of money as long as the economy has enough confidence to use it.
babaganoosh89··on The All-New Ford Maverick in 3 Minutes
Why did we just watch a 4 minute Ford ad?
babaganoosh89··on HOWTO: Be more productive (2005)
One strategy is to wake up earlier and do your side projects before work.
babaganoosh89··on List of 1000 portraits, generated with AI
If you can generate a larger number of these portraits, then if someone gives you a selfie you can find an image that's pretty similar to them. Would be good for a laugh.
babaganoosh89··on Working at a startup is overrated, both financially and emotionally
The best way to value startup equity is based on their last valuation. Then you can quickly compare the offer apples to apples to cash offers. Obviously startups don't like this when you figure out the 50k shares they offer you is only worth $10k a year at current valuation.
babaganoosh89··on FlutterFlow: Low-code Flutter apps
$70/month is definitely too cheap if it delivers what it promises. Unity3D is similar in concept but for games and charges $0/yr/seat, $400/yr/seat or $1800/yr/seat depending on how much your company makes.
babaganoosh89··on Sublime Text 4
> TypeScript, JSX and TSX Support

It doesn't seem like Sublime ships with the Typescript language server by default, not sure if I'd call syntax highlighting as support.

babaganoosh89··on Sublime Text 4
Does anyone still choose Sublime over VS Code? I wonder what plugins I'd miss from a frontend dev perspective.
babaganoosh89··on Drinking any amount of alcohol causes damage to the brain, study finds
What does the kombucha do for you?
babaganoosh89··on California Tries to “Cancel Math Class”
While the premise of the article is sickening, I'd take opinion articles from WSJ with a big grain of salt. Their general reporting tends to be somewhat neutral, but their opinion articles tend to be invasively slanted and spun.
babaganoosh89··on San Francisco’s tech fiefdom is dying
Those kind of movements don't happen when the people who live there are more focused on TC and rent payments.
