I am using a HHKB Pro Hybrid as a daily driver at work and a Realforce 104-u at home.
There is no such thing as the perfect keyboard, but HHKB Pro layout is something that stood its test of time (~10 years). And I don't see it getting replaced.
The Realforce may get benched, because I'm getting more used to wireless keyboards. So far it hasn't happened yet.
This is frustrating. After realizing I can only afford a small condo in Metro Vancouver area, I moved to a low COL city (relatively) 3 years ago. While the prices are still somewhat affordable from the West Coast standard, prices have gone up significantly in the past year alone.
Me too. I've subscribed and unsubscribed to their digital plans a bunch of times in the past ~10 years and it was never difficult. Perhaps this is new?
How hard / difficult is it to change the service address?
For example, if I go on a week long vacation to Miami, can I change the address before I get on the flight, and have it ready to use when I check in to the hotel..?
No doubt that RPi has been a game changer, but I can never convince myself to build a light file/media server with a Pi. Do I really want to spend $100+ buying a Pi and accessories, or should I just spend $300 on a Synology... which actually has an NVMe slot.
Haha I will try to find a copy. Anecdotally, the goods I saw were far from conspicuous. They all looked straight out of some music videos (heard of the "Ugly" shoes?).
I'm not glad these stores are doing bad, but I just never understood how a pair of sneakers can cost $700 - $900 when I can buy a decent laptop with that kind of money.
Is it possible to view the number of tests ran? I keep seeing in the news that the current numbers for US are probably very off as very little tests are performed.
Good luck to the team on this endeavor. I have never had a chance to use a laptop / workstation from them, but they must be doing something right since they have been around for a while now and that the community has nothing but great things to say about them.
Ah great, thanks. It's actually very helpful. I was actually looking at the Passmark score a week ago, but couldn't tell if it's trustworthy. Nice to get an endorsement.
Yes... a Mac Mini Pro with a workstation processor (doesn't have to be this particular beast) would be nice. Heck, even an i9 would be a welcome addition since it currently tops at i7 only.
I suppose I should've provided more context. My build usually takes a few minutes only during the day, as the changes are small and they are broken into multiple packages / units. Once or twice a week, some changes trigger chain reaction and takes 4+ hours to build. This is painful because it eats up chunk of my productivity. And perhaps once a week, I build from scratch just to prove everything still can be built from scratch.
I wonder how fast I can compile my code base with this. On my hexa-core i7-8850h, it often takes more than 4 hours to build everything in full throttle. And I do this quite often, so pain is definitely present. Given the network and disk i/o aren't the bottleneck, having more than 5 times the cores should theoretically reduce the build time at least by 3 folds, conservatively?
