aw123··on GPU World
Sorry, but this premise is just poorly thought out slop.

The premise explicitly names an extremely narrow set of unlikely futures. The world unfolds forward from the present. It doesn't start at some arbitrary hyper-specific hypothetical future you want and you performing a bunch of mental gymnastics to get there.

> "imagine the future, evenly distributed."

Yeah that sounds like you just get disqualified if your story is anything but "we all live under UBI and receive our equal rations from the world central government".

If you want actual interesting ideas about positive potential futures, change the premise.

aw123··on How to Train a Gen AI Kick Drum Model on Your Old Linux Desktop with 6GB VRAM
How far are we from getting a general model that can resynthesize any instrumental audio sound without fiddling with any knobs, so that we can recreate instruments we hear from any song? Seems like it should exist by now?
aw123··on Anthropic: Developing a Claude Code competitor using Claude Code is banned
I've seen dozens of "experts" all over the internet claim that they're "subsidizing costs" with the coding plans despite no evidence whatsoever. Despite the fact that various sources from OpenAI, Deepseek, model inference providers have suggested the contrary, that inference is very profitable with very high margins.

so if I understand correctly, you remask some tokens that were previously unmasked?

Interesting. Though it seems like they are still incentivized to distill their bigger models downward for more tokens/s.
aw123··on Limitless: Personalized AI powered by what you've seen, said, and heard
So Rewind will be the local version and Limitless will be the cloud version? Will Rewind still be coming to windows?
