autechr3··on Microsoft's “Love” of Linux
We are about to launch a new .NET core service and I've been working with .NET core for about 2 years now. Not only is Linux not a second class citizen (it is the easiest platform to run on and scale), but dropping support would make no sense from a business or technical standpoint. Microsoft is making a ton of money by supporting cross platform.

We aren't using SQL Server, but I've used most of the big RDBMS and SQL Server is the best. It just tends to be more expensive.

So far it has been anything but a "pain".

autechr3··on .NET Core 3.0 Concludes the .NET Framework API Porting Project
This has been my experience as well. JetBrains Rider on my mac is nice. I prefer it to VSCode. I'd recommend it if you can afford it.
autechr3··on .NET Core 3.0 Concludes the .NET Framework API Porting Project
.net core is definitely better than .net framework in regards to nuget issues in my experience.

FWIW, I live in east midtown and someone here is keeping chickens because I hear a rooster most mornings.

"His arms wide.."
autechr3··on A girl who gets gifts from birds
Perhaps in the mind of the crows, they are giving gifts as a reward. In effect, training the human (in the article).
autechr3··on Stop Robot Abuse
That robot would make a good pro footballer.
autechr3··on Show HN: Matterhorn – Your new project manager
Agreed. We switched to JIRA for a few months and we all HATED it. Back to good old fogbugz :D
autechr3··on Show HN: Jason – A new JSON Library for Go
We had a developer named Jason, fortunately he mainly did XML.
autechr3··on SmileBASIC for Nintendo 3DS
Wow cool! This made me so happy that I already own a 3DS. If you are on the fence about it, but you played gameboy/nintendo for the past 20 years, go ahead and get a 3DS. This plus there are at least 7 or 8 games that are really fun.
autechr3··on Open Source Project Name Checker
I'd also like to see bitbucket and even CodePlex.
autechr3··on Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg Donating $25M to the CDC Foundation
When you are married, all of your spouses money is your money (unless you agree it isnt).
autechr3··on Brad Fitzpatrick on the future of Go
I wouldn't say Dart hasn't gone anywhere. Its gone from 81st place to 17th on tiobe in just 1 year. To me, that is going somewhere.
autechr3··on RIP HumbleFool
You don't have to sign in...
autechr3··on Online JSON editor
URL debacle aside, I think this seems like a pretty good tool. My only qualm is that it seems a bit busy. In my mind, a good json editor will make it easier to edit the data, but here I had to scroll more and click more.
autechr3··on For Hire: Dedicated Young Man With Down Syndrome
For completeness of this correction, they are Cetaceans.
autechr3··on Poll: Do you use marijuana
I would say it depends on who you know more than where you are.
