audace··on Show HN: How to Get Root on Rippling for Mac
Confirmed that I can gain full access to admin account. Is Rippling aware of this?
audace··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (May 2019)
Applecart | Backend Engineer | NYC | Full-time | ONSITE

Applecart | Mobile Engineer (React Native) | NYC | Full-time | ONSITE

Openings: https://applecart.recruiterbox.com/

Applecart is hiring engineers to help build a D2C product that compensates consumers who refer their personal networks to brands and products that they genuinely love.

Backed by Endeavor, Aspect Ventures, Joe Lonsdale, Mike Stoppelman (ex SVP of Engineering @ Yelp), and many other great angels.

audace··on The End of Being a Duke Professor and What It Means for the Future of Higher Ed
My sister was one of the many students who signed multiple letters of defense. She leans very much to the left end of the ideological spectrum but still had nothing but amazing things to say. What a shame.
audace··on Ask HN: Best free software to make marketing or demo videos?
I've heard great things about Powtoon: https://www.powtoon.com/home/. Haven't used it myself so can't give much context but I'd recommend checking it out.
audace··on Ask HN: Which book have you re-read recently?
The Prince by Machiavelli
audace··on Ask HN: What's the process of writing a new programming language?
Is there a typical preferred language to write lexers and parsers in? I imagine Python would be quite intuitive...
audace··on Ask HN: What's the process of writing a new programming language?
As the question is about a side-project, does the book also dive into languages that compile into another relatively high-level language (i.e. C) apart from writing a language the compiles directly into assembly? I'm more interested in building something light-weight to understand the general process than building something completely from the ground up.
audace··on An Attempt to Classify GitHub Issues as 'Critical' [pdf]
Interested in everyone's thoughts in improving the model. This is just a first swing as part of a final project - will be digging deeper this summer. Need to drive down the misclassification error.
audace··on Ask HN: Tool to auto-generate basic docstrings in Python?
The only half-decent tool I've found is PyMent: https://github.com/dadadel/pyment
audace··on Ask HN: What was the app that lets you see a website's technologies?
Most likely it was builtwith.com

audace··on A Brief Guide to Philly Tech Scene
I would include it but it appears as if it's only in PHL for this year? If it's annually in PHL, I'll add it to the guide.
audace··on A Brief Guide to Philly Tech Scene
Just included him!
audace··on Fellowship V2
What are the dates for this batch? I can't seem to find it on the fellowship page as it hasn't been updated.
audace··on Use this instead of press releases
Welcome to Mike Butcher
audace··on Use this instead of press releases
Completely true - Adam Grant recently wrote a piece on when people approach him asking if they can 'pick his brain'... simply ask what you want to know!
audace··on Use this instead of press releases
Yeah - delivery was a bit controversial and not too "entrepreneur-first" but the content was definitely insightful
audace··on Ask HN: Any tool for automatically understanding code via comments?
Yep - this is awesome. Has anyone attempted to use Doxygen to then map out code or organize functions into libraries?
audace··on Anonymous Markdown Web Chat
oops
audace··on Why does this weekly newsletter suck?
Any tips, comments?
audace··on Ask HN: What are the best tactics to drive inbound leads to your site?
A mobile development firm, essentially we do high quality design and development (twotoasters.com). What can we do to drive in our target audience (VCs, CEOs, CTOs, Heads of Product)?
