athinggoingon··on Intuitive Guide to Maxwell's Equations
I wish there was an "intuition" wiki where you can learn the intuition first and then a link at the bottom takes you back to the Wikipedia page where you can stare at the math until you really get it.
athinggoingon··on Internet in Iran gradually shuttting down due to protests
Hi fellow Iranian. Install Toosheh while you can: https://twitter.com/radiojibi/status/1195802219884503040
athinggoingon··on The U.S. government is set to borrow nearly $1 trillion this year
Obama added $9.3 trillion to the debt, more than any other president. That's an average of about 1.2 trillion a year.

On January 20, 2009, when he was sworn in, the debt was $10.626 trillion. On January 20, 2017, when he left, it was $19.947 trillion.

athinggoingon··on What happened in 2017
"The big story of 2017 in the US was the beginning of the end of white male dominance."

"[Trump] is the epitome of white male dominance. An unapologetic (actually braggart) groper in chief. I think it took something as horrible as the election of such an awful human being to shock the US into deciding that we could not allow this behavior any more. Courageous women such as Susan Fowler, Ellen Pao, and many others came forward and talked publicly about their struggles with behavior that we now deem unacceptable."

I thought it was Harvey Weinstein revelations that was the turning point.

athinggoingon··on Trump
> Trump's casual racism, misogyny, and conspiracy theories are without precedent among major presidential nominees. He has said that a judge of Mexican descent couldn’t treat him fairly because of his heritage

Judge Gonzalo Curiel, the judge presiding over the Trump university case, is a member of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association. La Raza is a group that advocates for a path to citizenship for all illegal immigrants.

> we should ban Muslims from entering the country.

Trump wants to ban Muslims from majority Muslim countries that are currently involved in prolonged wars which makes a comprehensive background investigation impossible to do.

> When his supporters beat up a homeless Hispanic man and cited Trump, he called them “very passionate”.

You forgot to mention all of the Trump supporters that get chased and beat up by Mexican flag waving protesters.

This by no means justifies violence on the Trump supporters side, but please do some research to find out the majority of the violence is perpetrated by the protesters that show up to Trump rallies and not the other way around.

I can go on and dismantle every other premise in this article using data and logic, but I will stop here.

athinggoingon··on Iranians Are Using Satellite TV to Beam in Banned Internet
Satellite dishes are illegal in Iran or at least were up until 1996. I lived in Iran during the 90s and I recall my uncle's dish was confiscated and he had to pay a hefty fine. But you don't have to take my word for it. There is all kinds of evidence to support that: http://www.latimes.com/world/middleeast/la-fg-iranian-police...
athinggoingon··on Explaining to my Dad why I quit my job
I noticed, on the following page (shortlistedjobs, one of the sites listed in your portfolio), that the "Distiller" takes the employee data and computes a list of factors that are then categorized into success and failure buckets. I see that being an introvert is considered a failure with a significance of -5. How do you quantify introversion? What method do you use? Something similar to sentiment analysis? I'm just curious. http://www.shortlistedjobs.com/how-it-works/
