asimovDev··on AI should know that mylocalhost.com – is a real domain
The OP body:

I own mylocalhost.com, never really done anything with it in the last 24 years I have owned it.

Though lately and being the curious type, I have started logging the traffic.

All I can say is I would suggest if you have ever used it as a test domain ( thanks AI for using it as a recommended "test" domain )

I would rotate any sensitive data that you may have sent it.

[mdash was used on purpose]

asimovDev··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
I recently used Gemini flash 3.7 to rebuild my old React portfolio that I made in 2022 into an Astro project after noticing how slow the React version was. It preserved the styling and functionality and made it more maintainable. Pleasant results
asimovDev··on Getting 50 GB/S Back from the Apple Neural Engine
going forward also doesn't work (displays an about; page) so I am wondering if the website is using React or some other framework and the routing library is setup incorrectly, causing this.
asimovDev··on Reverse engineering my e-scooter and rewriting the firmware in Rust
Thank you for posting! I got a e-scooter this spring and wrote my own app for it after reverse engineering the official app + BLE logs. I am not brave enough to do anything with the firmware on it though. Maybe not yet at least
asimovDev··on Homebrew 7.0.0
I recommend MacPorts, the migration is easy, you copy the package names you installed with brew, uninstall homebrew (there's an unisntall script on brew.sh FAQ section, it will also uninstall all homebrew packages (but not the casks)) then install macports and reinstall the packages with sudo port. Although the selection is smaller on macports and newer packages might not have a prebuilt pkg for your OS so you still might end up building manually (My poor i5 4core had to attempt building nodejs26 because there wasn't a pkg for Ventura)
asimovDev··on Homebrew 7.0.0
does App Store count?
asimovDev··on Reddit Now Blocking Firefox for Android with uBlock Origin
still works for me. Maybe A/B testing or just something on your end?

Firefox 155.0.1, Android 16 (Samsung S24), uBO 1.74.0

asimovDev··on The Deathray: A simple way for an untrusted site to freeze a Mac
only time i had slowdowns running LLMs on my M3 Max was when i was hitting the context limit so the memory pressure was hitting high yellow / red.
asimovDev··on The Deathray: A simple way for an untrusted site to freeze a Mac
Call of the void is strong in this one
asimovDev··on The Deathray: A simple way for an untrusted site to freeze a Mac
are you saying that it corrupted the OS install / bricked your Mac?
asimovDev··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Dropping React and going back to raw JavaScript next?

I am still mourning pre-React GitHub. Maybe rose-tinted glasses, but it was so pleasant to use

asimovDev··on Show HN: The same nine streaming subscriptions cost $702/year more than in 2021
is it an old intel mac mini or ARM?
asimovDev··on I resigned from Anthropic today
his name shows up in various AI papers and the same name is mentioned as a core contributor to GPT-4o
asimovDev··on I resigned from Anthropic today
yeah the last message makes me think that the problem , to him, is that we are making this aritficial intelligence better without understanding how it works. Trillions of interacting parts, there's no way in our current state to comprehend it.
asimovDev··on DaVinci Resolve 21.1
you do know this company also sells myriad of hardware , can't Fable those just yet. and I am sure majority of their income comes from that part of their business, selling equipment to studios etc.
asimovDev··on Getting your hands dirty is good for you
wrong tab I assume, cause above this post on the frontpage is the LAN house post
asimovDev··on Asahi Linux on M3
this opens up the options on the used market though. once people start dumping their early Mx Macs, they will turn into wonderful Linux machines instead of becoming landfill or a collector's item that will sit in a display case / shelf
asimovDev··on Asahi Linux on M3
I am sure the Omarchy team is throwing their best agents on the case.
asimovDev··on 216M Spy TVs – The LG Smart TV Problem [video]
If I am ever well off enough to consider a home theater, it seems I will need to make it a faraday cage and open up the TV to snip all of the microphones and disconnect the Wi-Fi antennae (or maybe even drill any modem chips on the circuitry if we want to go bonkers) as well as any webcams.

Do they make audiophile grade aluminum foil yet? Seems like a neat business opportunity for customers like me

asimovDev··on Site Is Closed on Sundays
off topic but I wonder why client is the first query parameter in that URL. I guess there's some stuff on the search page that changes based on what you are browsing from? they already have the user agent data so I can't imagine it's for marketing data tracking needs
asimovDev··on Portal by Spotify cut my Claude Code token usage by 90%
their free version wasn't particularly horrendous the last time I tried. I clicked play on a playlist and got an ad every maybe 3-5 songs and the ads were usually around 30 seconds. although my main issue is that they only had the same 2-3 ads to play for me throughout the weeks I used the free version so that got annoying.

as someone on the internet once said, it's good that no-one at Spotify realised that people would buy the subscription much faster if it was a crying baby soundbite playing every time instead of an advertisement

asimovDev··on Porting my 1993 Amiga game to Godot, with an LLM reading the 68000 assembly
https://github.com/harshilmathur/openra2

this is the closest thing I could find. do you have a link to the reverse engineered RA2? I am surprised I do not get any recent repositories or forum posts about this, you'd think it would be more talked about

asimovDev··on Porting my 1993 Amiga game to Godot, with an LLM reading the 68000 assembly
sessions are stored in the home folder somewhere but are deleted after 30 days by default. it won't be stored in the bash history, at least it does not for me on macOS with zsh + omz
asimovDev··on Porting my 1993 Amiga game to Godot, with an LLM reading the 68000 assembly
session stored on the drive would also contain all of the tool calls , right? unless op changed the default settings it would've expired though by now, since the run was in July
asimovDev··on I wanna live an NPC life
Perfect Days is an amazing film which I recommend everyone reading to check out, I am not sure it's on streaming but available for rent / purchase on whatever platform you use (I bought it on Apple TV). I was amused to recently learn that it was an ad for Tokyo Toilet[0]

asimovDev··on Run macOS Software on Linux
Sadly cheese grater hasn’t cost that little since the first Obama administration
asimovDev··on EVE Online moves to Python 3
No, you gotta tell Claude that you believe in them
asimovDev··on Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B
beating the dead horse after other dozen comments, but the same reason we use github / gitlab instead of using Savannah
asimovDev··on Omarchy development practices lead to predictable security issues
Been hearing about Omarchy for a while (past half a year if not more), but pretty much exclusively on LinkedIn. I don't remember if I follow DHH but I suppose enough of my connections do either way that I often get recommended posts about Omarchy. But I barely hear about it on reddit and I probably saw it mentioned a couple times here on HN
