asdfaoeu··on Copy Fail
I don't anyone is saying it's not "enterprise" it's just that they clearly went out of their way to make it less readable. By all means advertise the golf'd line count but just have the non minified script.
asdfaoeu··on Tell HN: Anthropic no longer allowing Claude Code subscriptions to use OpenClaw
Or alternatively just pay based on what you use? I.e. $/tokens.
asdfaoeu··on Why users cannot create Issues directly
This still puts the onus on the developers to categorise the issues which I'm guessing they don't want to do.
asdfaoeu··on Replacing JavaScript with Just HTML
Why would you need aria attributes if it's summary tag?
asdfaoeu··on Liquibase continues to advertise itself as "open source" despite license switch
The beauty of open source is you can always fork the previous version. I don't see how it's anymore of a bait and switch than a vendor raising the price of a product.
asdfaoeu··on A German ISP changed their DNS to block my website
I don't think governments seizing domains are paying anything.
asdfaoeu··on Qantas South Africa flights delayed by falling debris from SpaceX rockets
The rating is taking into consideration that it has 4 engines. The term is just confusing because it used to only apply to twin engine aircraft.
asdfaoeu··on Crowdstrike Falcon sensor issue crashes Windows hosts worldwide
I think that is the method.
asdfaoeu··on How GCC and Clang handle statically known undefined behaviour
True but it only has no side effects if it's well defined. The compiler can assume it's well defined but only if it's executed.
asdfaoeu··on How GCC and Clang handle statically known undefined behaviour
If print statement never completes then it is a well defined program. Because there will be no division by zero.
asdfaoeu··on How GCC and Clang handle statically known undefined behaviour
How can it both have no side effects and have undefined behaviour?
asdfaoeu··on I got tired of hearing that YC fired Sam, so here's what actually happened
A side gig is something on the side, not your "main gig".
asdfaoeu··on Apple and Google deliver support for unwanted tracking alerts in iOS and Android
There's two products here Bluetooth trackers and phones. People don't want to buy phones that expose themselves to tracking by other people.
asdfaoeu··on How to find the AWS account ID of any S3 bucket
They have ARN's which include the account which a glob match is useful. Something like "arn:aws:*:*:1234567890:*" is useful but "arn:aws:*:*:1234567*:*" isn't
asdfaoeu··on Sora: Creating video from text
So basically now only a select few have the resources to compete and now everyone will be able to?
asdfaoeu··on Google lays off hundreds in hardware, voice assistant teams
Overall probably a good thing for the rest of us having all this talent starting new companies.
asdfaoeu··on Fewer people are buying electric cars in the US
I mean in practice that's what most people's dinning rooms are. I of course know some exceptions but they have more money than sense.
asdfaoeu··on Tesla blamed drivers for failures of parts it long knew were defective
You're talking about nautical mile. Apart from that a mile is a mile.
asdfaoeu··on Kotlin Coroutines vs. Threads Performance Benchmark
The issue with OPs is that it's really a case where coroutines would have any advantage so it's kind of pointless.
asdfaoeu··on Detroit wants to be the first big American city to tax land value
People who don't directly own land will pay rent in one form or another that will go to a landlord that does pay rent.

Also ask a different question if he doesn't benefit from any of the land in the US why is he still there?

asdfaoeu··on Redfin Is Leaving the National Association of Realtors
Typically there's much less tax involved when investing in real estate. Here (Australia) there's both no tax on the imputed rent or price appreciation if it's your own home.
asdfaoeu··on Choose Postgres queue technology
NOTIFY/LISTEN isn't a queue it has broadcast semantics. Postgres queueing is really just the SELECT FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED, the NOTIFY/LISTEN allows you to reduce the latency a bit but not essential.
asdfaoeu··on Choose Postgres queue technology
You are going to have the same scaling issues with your datastore. I don't really understand why you say that your dequeue queries will throttle each others locks and grind it to a half? Isn't that the whole point of SKIP LOCKED?
asdfaoeu··on Can you simply brainwash an LLM?
That's already an issue without an LLM in the middle.
asdfaoeu··on Show HN: San Francisco Compute – 512 H100s at <$2/hr for research and startups
AWS and Azure both charge by the hour anyway so it wouldn't but if you wanted you could use Reserved instances and just have their accounts in the same organisation.

A large part of the profit comes from the upfront risk of buying machines. With this you are just absorbing that risk which may be better if the startup expects to last.

asdfaoeu··on Canada’s new tech talent strategy
Only for people working for domestic customers. Others may benefit as having more people already in Canada generates a network effect. Really though this policy benefits both the lower paid workers which are not being competed against and those owning property which is enough to get support for a policy like this.
asdfaoeu··on The NixOS Foundation’s Call to Action: S3 Costs Require Community Support
In comparison it seems Debian is using 1/100th of it https://www.debian.org/mirror/size .
asdfaoeu··on SVB Hall of Shame
SVB didn't fail because people pulled money, it failed because of a lack of risk management. Complaining about those pulling money out is silly. If anything they should have pulled it out much earlier.
asdfaoeu··on Microsoft lays off one of its responsible AI teams
They did really? Are you sure it wasn't because of the other reason many companies switch to SaaS? (money)
asdfaoeu··on January 1, 2023 is Public Domain Day: Works from 1927 are open to all
He was talking about independent studios though.
