I go to vote at a church hall no one stops me and asks me if I've found Jesus. If I go to a conference the only subjects I expect to hear preached are semantics and semicolons.
As the organiser in question. I don't have any religious affiliation. I'm just aware of many wonderful buildings around my citys who's primary purpose is that of worship but design see's them very well suited to a conference.
I've been in talks where 20% f the audience got up and walked out and that person still has a strong speaking carear. To many customers for events vs good events.
As much as I like the idea of self police, I find with social media it's a fine line between community watch and an angry mob. Also many people would not feel comfortable doing so, but would have an expectation of organisers to manage it.
I completely agree. I've seen such things been blown out of proportion before and was aiming to keep the rules subjective while at the same time showing a serious commitment. But it's clear I didn't do a great job in articulating that so will go back to the drawing board and keep trying.
