armaautomotive··on California is chasing wealth that has feet
I don't think this assessment is connected with reality. Land on its own isn't valuable, its the labour and investment people put in while on the land that produces taxable value. Just because the land can't leave doesn't mean the value of the land stays. As long as the government spends more than it can collect, simply charging more people to operate will cause regular people to leave. The higher you tax above the laffer optimal you are just destroying value. My opinion.
armaautomotive··on Sam Altman’s DRAM Deal
Do you think OpenAI plans to trade the semiconductor market? This would only apply in that scenario.
armaautomotive··on Do not put your site behind Cloudflare if you don't need to
If you set up Cloudflare in the first place you probably did it for a reason. Before Cloudflare DDoS attacks were widely common and very destructive.
armaautomotive··on Elon Musk's $1T pay deal is a troubling display of corporate capture
I hope more movers and builders take 100% performance based pay packages.
armaautomotive··on Reddit Will Introduce Paywalls in 2025
Is Digg.com still around? This is a joke as back in the day reddit was the small fish.
armaautomotive··on Stargate Project: SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, MGX to build data centers
Won't an intelligent agent available to everyone be able to solve problems in the world? Isn't that why they (OpenAI) and others are doing what they do? To bring abundance?
armaautomotive··on QNX is now free for anything non-commercial, plus there's an RPi image
This is very interesting and I'm happy to see this. It's probably not relevant but i'm remembering reaching out 20+ years ago for a license to use in a Darpa GC team and getting a quote for 16K which made it unavailable for our make shift team but I have a tremendous amount of respect for the company and their work to build QNX. I will probably be looking into this for something in the future.
armaautomotive··on Senior Intel CPU architects splinter to develop RISC-V processors
I wonder which markets these risc-v processors will target. I have a 64 core Milk-V computer i'm testing compatibility with a Java application on. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
armaautomotive··on Tesla's Design Changes Confuse Drivers and Undercut EV Quality
We are building kit cars and plan to develop a car we can homologate. The usability of controls are something we have been thinking about for a while. It's interesting that a user operation manual is required from manufacturers here in Canada but i'm not sure how frequently new car buyers familiarize themselves with the operation. The people I speak with want physical controls without touch screens. One thing the article mentions is that customers are bringing their vehicles back to dealerships i'm not sure if this is to return them or not.
armaautomotive··on Nvidia announces financial results for first quarter fiscal 2025
What year is it? I'm surprised they haven't fixed the title.
armaautomotive··on Jetson hoverbike flies CEO to work, in world’s first eVTOL commute
Depending on where you live flying a vehicle like this will require that you maintain a certain distance from people (500 feet in Canada), which would do something for noise at least. Thats probably why the flight is in the country side actually, they probably are not allowed near a city.
armaautomotive··on Jetson hoverbike flies CEO to work, in world’s first eVTOL commute
My thought on most people not having this commute is specifically because we don't currently have fling cars/vehicles like this.

I hear Elon Musk made a quote something about nobody wants flying craft all over their heads, but thats the point of the flying craft. Most people live near high density centres because transportation on land dictates but if we could go up we could have more greenery and spread out a little.
