arjun1296··on Amnesty International India Halts Its Work in India Due to Government Reprisal
Isn't that the responsibility of the state-govt to ensure that people are educated?

What is central-govt doing to "DENY" education and that based on "caste" ? I still didn't find any evidence.

arjun1296··on Amnesty International to halt India operations
A decent explanation of recent FCRA Amendments.

Where and when did this govt deny education? Do you have any evidence or are you just grappling with straws here?

Subramanya Swamy is 81 yrs old. A person who has remnants and values of old-school of casteist thought.

I don't expect him to be post-modernists egalitarian.

However at the same it doesn't mean he can't say his casteist comments openly. ;)

After all, its better if people say it openly so that they can be criticized for their casteist comment. The likes of him is politically insignificant as he is NOT competing in elections.

Government needs to ensure whether NGOs are working as per there declared mandate and need to ensure their mandatory legal compliance requirements. And it isn't "Conformance to their objective" is mandatory legal compliance in a democracy.

arjun1296··on All Tesla Cars Being Produced Now Have Full Self-Driving Hardware
Credit score is used for lending. Basically, helps to understand the repaying capacity of the person.

However, presence of alcohol in sweat or by another means if detected and taken by systems to feed data to insurance companies it will make judicious decision in charging the person a higher premium.

Because, drunken driving risk lives of others on the road and yourself. If a person is not in a position to live on a agreeable consensus of social security model without putting others life at risk, jungle suits him.

arjun1296··on Stali: A new static Linux distribution
I refuse to believe that disk space is less as it can leverage other libraries in the deps list to load at run time and other can use it too.

For static executable the same dependent library will have to linked to all binaries. Maintenance is a pain in the neck.

arjun1296··on Re-reading Kahneman's “Thinking, Fast and Slow”
It is obvious, he has studied intuitive biases throughout his career.

However, he himself said that experts make only little difference as compared to the market experts in the stock market. On an analogy, he is an expert but just like any other human. He is fallible. Our bias on the Oscar Winning - Halo Effect biased us in buying and reading. And after reading and analyzing the content. Now everything has gone to the hindsight.

That is the purpose, concrete analysis of concrete condition based on rationality.

arjun1296··on Why Are the Highly Educated So Liberal?
I have to second this. Because, sometimes people would want to generalize everything with only small amount of data.
arjun1296··on Why Are the Highly Educated So Liberal?
I believe myself to be a liberal. However, I still believe that the question asked "Why are the highly educated so liberal?" in itself is a loaded question.
arjun1296··on Moving Forward on Basic Income
Wondering how long is this experiment going to happen ? Giving basic income to cover their existential expenses like a good food, water, shelter, clothing, education and healthcare is fine. However, the happiness depends on how much more can they save(to plan their investment) and also "invest" for their future to uplift from their current social living status to something higher.

Until and unless some time is given for the subjects to actually "act on their free will" I doubt whether this experiment would be successful.

arjun1296··on India is set to launch a scale model of a reusable spacecraft on Monday
Gravity movies budget was 100 million USD and ISRO's mars mission budget was 75 million USD. So I don't get the smell of government propaganda.

After all India ain't North Korea.

So who is the owner of nature? Is it for complete animal kingdom or are we just a co-operating organism in the whole environment. Making arguments on ownership would be too grave against humanity.
arjun1296··on India's telecom regulator cracks down on Facebook for its Free Basics campaign [pdf]
What Zuckerberg said was that the new company is a LLC company which they will be liable to pay taxes. However, the company is controlled by the couples.

Disappointing part was the role played by the media singing "All hail Zuck" misleading people saying he is "donating" to "charity"

That was something uncalled for. Indians may be backward in many things. This kind of PR is not going to be enough to fool average educated Indians.

arjun1296··on India's telecom regulator cracks down on Facebook for its Free Basics campaign [pdf]
>>first class subsidizes the economy class. We let them >>board first, but our ticket becomes cheaper because of >>that.

You mean, like governments in capitalistic nations like the US running at the mercy of some say a 100 billionaires. I don't believe that is a viable model to follow in a egalitarian society of the internet. Currently, internet is the best example to prove in a different sense that anarchists (virtual)society can survive, lead and guide people to their goals. When people try to build establishment on top of this, thing take a different route altogether.

Internet is like Marx's virtual economy ;)
