having the team constantly on call is a recipe for having them quit. sure, you could run this with the bare minimum number of engineers, but your turnover would be so high and given how high hiring costs tend to be, this is a net negative

ktlo in a constantly changing company is not easy. software / host patching to maintain compliance is necessary busywork that requires a bit of babysitting. not to mention keeping up with required migrations to new stuff due to internal deprecations.
File access for apps is gated behind “special” folder access (like Documents/Downloads/etc, and “full disk access” which is anywhere beyond the common user directories)

yeah that protocol exists. it’s called RCS and it is coming to ios soon. imo apple is allowed to gate imessage behind ios-only if RCS support is a thing

A big thing discouraging me from using cash is how suspicious people are of you when you pay in cash. I've definitely gotten weird looks from cashiers when doing so, especially when you pay in larger bills (like $100).
Apple Notes is great, but can't do things like tagging/graph view and doesn't allow you to export in a standardized format.
Obsidian is a superset of Markdown (with a few modifications for page embedding and wiki-links) and allows you to sync with anything that provides a way for you to upload a folder of text files.
What bloat are you referring to? TS compiles down to plain JS.
