“Frictionless context switching” doesn’t really mean anything to me.
Spending a bit of time filling in the blanks, it appears it’s a presentation tool where you write slides via code?
You’re up against much more polished Markdown-based competition like iAPresenter, so you need to make the case for why markdown isn’t enough and a more expressive language is needed.
This is exactly the reason people use magic links - passwords are painful.
I generally don't mind having one or the other, so either password or magic link. What I can't stand is having both in the same login flow:
- Enter your email
- Get sent a magic link
- Open magic link
- Continue and enter your password
- Enter your 2FA as well
- Smash computer
And before anyone says “just write a native app”, let me know how many small businesses you run where you can afford to employ developers to create and manage multiple apps across platforms?
These are all different problems and I don't think they'll be solved by building a tool. They're human problems.
- Don't have enough time? Change jobs or go full-time as a freelancer. Alternatively hire someone else to help you out.
- Don't want to say no immediately? Charge them for an initial consultation or roadmap phase that won't involve the lengthy commitment to build.
- Don't know where to send the client? Start networking - find some other developers or agencies that want the work.
Pick the things you want to work on, not the things people want you to work on.
I've been trying to replace all my various backups (Time Machine, Backblaze, CCC) to use a single tool (Arq - https://www.arqbackup.com/)
The Backblaze client is the next to go. To be honest, I haven't had too many issues with it, but the restore interface in particular is pretty poor and slow.
I’m happy to pay to offload as much devops as possible to focus on features. Likewise when choosing a framework: convention over configuration where possible.
