antoko··on Obama Administration Unveils Blueprint for a “Privacy Bill of Rights”
If the economy continues the way it has for the last 4 months I think the exact opposite will be true. Recent economic news has been good and Obama's approval rating has hit 50% in some polls - if you take out the blip for the bin Laden hit his numbers haven't been that good since his honeymoon period.

antoko··on Microsoft makes fun of Google with Gmail Man video, again
I have no idea about the numbers but by MS's "bread and butter" I was referring to business software sales of offline office suite. MS's response to google's entry into that market was to ramp up their own online versions of their more familiar office products.

Care to give any relevant examples of this from the history of which you speak?
antoko··on Microsoft makes fun of Google with Gmail Man video, again
Office 365 is a cloud-based office setup from MS - which includes email and office docs its aimed at corporations. It is a newer version of what was BPOS. Google have been trying to expand into that corporate world. MS are fighting back since it represents their bread and butter.
antoko··on Two things about SOPA/PIPA and then I'll shut up
Not to worry, the Citizen's United vs FEC decision already "fixed" this problem. Internet companies can donate their advertising space to super PACs rather than directly to candidates. Problem... "solved" :)

MegaUpload are foreign. They're based in Hong Kong.

Also there were pretty high profile domain seizures done in two bouts over the last two years. ICE/DOJ seized domains (google it) - some of those were foreign based but with .com or .net. (I don't recall if any were foreign TLDs) There already doing anything they want anyway - and happily ignoring any due process - codifying these actions into law with PIPA/SOPA is just the icing on the cake.

antoko··on Maddox - I hope SOPA passes
Ultimately fixing the system is the way to go. I don't think the OP's boycotts would do ANYTHING to address that issue. As a short-term fix having tech giants throw money at politicians would probably be effective. However then the tech industry is one of the vested interests in NOT fixing the system because they're a big player in it... Kind of a catch-22

I disagree pretty strongly, what I found most refreshing and "revolutionary" about the occupy movement was it's lack of a strong detailed message. It made it massively inclusive, it is not a one issue movement it is a new way of involving all kinds of people in the political process. That is what gave me hope (I'm cynical enough to know that it might not pan out as I'd like) it actually IS addressing the broken system the OP is complaining about.

The political process can only be corrupt as long as people aren't paying attention - I think the occupy movement did a great service in focusing attention on the inequalities inherent in the current system and provided a model for what democracy is supposed to be. People talking, debating and voting on the actual issues that affect them - when contrasted with the BS that is the congressional sausage factory and the media circus that surrounds it I know which I'd prefer to be the basis for a redefined version of democracy.

EDIT: typo

I think "can't read" would also include the case of "haven't read". Making the "haven't read" component somewhat redundant.

Aesthetically it doesn't scan well - I think adding it in parens would be the way to go if you want to make that kind of emphasis.

Haven't read (and can't) ...

If the question is about whether it is grammatically correct then I wouldn't like to say - I never really paid much attention to those rules. :)

If you mean in reference to the Sun, then it sure does... but it isn't actually a shadow, it's a reflection.
antoko··on Is Foursquare in trouble?
CTRL-F... it is a generally used keyboard shortcut for "Find..." at least on windows based machines.

Actually a clever URL - would non-geeks get it though?

antoko··on SOPA vote is now December 21
>To me, the most shocking about SOPA has been the way it is portrayed in the media......The media is minimizing the issue to corporate laziness....I think an outlet like CBS has an obligation to do better than that.

The media are the ones that are lobbying for this bill, did you really expect them to cover it with anything approaching impartiality?

CBS is owned by Viacom. Getting the media to join the fight against SOPA is not very likely.

antoko··on Help me out by taking this spatial ability test
I'm not sure it takes into consideration the orientation of the image, I was using that as a short cut - E.G. arrow points to circle and such.

This made about half of them solvable by inspection in under 15 seconds for me. However the result was 1 out of 9. Using this same approach the 8th question was obviously flawed, I wasn't about to go back and try a different method at that point though.
