Equifax's Chief Security Officer is a music major.

It paints a clear picture why this happened.

Can you give me examples where I'm breaking the guidelines? I've been extra careful to leave comments that contribute to the discussion and share a unique point of view.

Cosmo was shunned because he went looney tunes in a very short timespan.

For those who don't really watch speedruns, what happened to him was really fucked up.

- Lost in very important tournament.

- Got depressed because of it.

- Girlfriend left him.

- More depressed.

- Suddenly, "I'm actually a girl".

I feel really really sorry for Cosmo, so much went wrong in his life in a very short timespan and he snapped.

They need to figure out how to keep these things away from people's homes.

Imagine living in this constant flicker, I would go insane.

Can I buy and install Protube on my iphone without using the app store?
anon_dev_123456··on Ask HN: What are your favourite developer blogs?
These lists are not useful at all honestly, just a mesh of links with no context or info why it would interest someone.
anon_dev_123456··on Ask HN: What are your favourite developer blogs?
I like Dadgum's blog. http://prog21.dadgum.com/

Being an older developer (please don't crucify me he's old compared to people I've worked with), his insight is really interesting to me.

I also use Stacknews to follow tools that interest me. This site aggregates articles and I can read them inline. It's like RSS on steroids.

anon_dev_123456··on Ask HN: How did you get started in Network Security/Penetration Testing?
I can tell you how not to do it. I'll never forget the funniest interview I ever had. I interviewed with this company called Deja vu Security.

http://www.dejavusecurity.com/

I explicitly told them, via email, I have ZERO experience pen testing, or anything related to hacking. I'm a terrific software engineer looking to pivot into this market, would take a salary cut to get my feet wet and be mentored. Would this be possible? Are you guys remotely interested in an arrangement like this?

They say great, when can we sync up? That's definitely something we can do.

So we set a call up and the call takes literally 39 seconds, I'll never forget it. He asked me what experience I had, and I reply: None whatsoever, like I mentioned in my email I'm interested in jumping into this line of work though.

"Thanks but we're not going to move forward."

Before I can even say thank you for your time, goodbye, the dude just hangs up the phone on me lol.

anon_dev_123456··on Read This Before You Build Uber for X
I disagree. If I told you break some laws, you'll be protected, you still wouldn't be able to come up with a billion dollar idea and _execute_.

Uber's success hinged on the fact that they did a lot of things right, most importantly building something that's a net positive to the end user. Breaking laws just helped them expand quicker.

The end user for Uber doesn't care at all about wages for the drivers. "Oh that's so sad... but I need to use Uber because it's hassle free."

anon_dev_123456··on Ask HN: 6-figure freelancers of HN, what do you do?
Work on Upwork, Rails+Javascript+Elixir. Fullstack.
anon_dev_123456··on Ask HN: Best features of your favourite language?
Elixir - Pattern matching for function signatures. So many conditional statements just nuked from orbit.
anon_dev_123456··on Ask HN: How do you know how much to charge for your services?
Every time I start getting a lot of requests for work, I up my price. Ideally you should be getting about 3 requests for work per month. 4 is pushing it, it means you should be charging more.

Charge more until you stop being flooded with work requests.
