The number of available tools is really getting out of hand and I wish projects like this wouldn't suck away resources from established, functional projects.
I wish you the best.
As for selling the information later, that's a different issue (and one that I agree is not ethical).
Yet another thinly veiled political story that somehow make it to the front page because it has the word "coders" in the title.
What is happening with Hacker News?
I send a packet over the network. I configured the timeout to be 10 seconds. 10 seconds passes. Is the packet truly lost? Or, maybe the packet was received, processed, and and a response is on the way back, but it takes 20 seconds instead of 10! Or maybe it takes an hour instead of 20 seconds. Or a decade.
We don't know if the packet is truly lost or is just taking >$timeout_timer and making assumptions is dangerous.
I was impressed with Atomic's size, but seeing how much smaller Alpine is, I can't help but wonder what all the additional size is in Red Hat's images.
Those moments of updating the files: That little euphoria of finding the fix but needing to focus to get it done correctly and finally hitting enter for the last time...ahhh.

If you want to circle jerk about how terrible the police can be, do it somewhere else - this isn't the place.
Flagged.
There's no point in reading these because there's no technical information. Stuff like this is something you sent to your customer because they want root cause.

I'm not here to "win", I'm here to implement the best technical solution.
To be more precise: Let's say I will be working on a team of 5 people. They send the manager and the smartest guy and things look great, but how do I gauge the skill level of the people who aren't there along with the skill level of other teams. For example, maybe my team is great, but I'll be working with other teams (infra guys, networking guys, legacy systems guys, whatever) who are obstructive and unskilled.
How do you get outside the "interview box" to see more of the company?
