Quality control measures: NGOs ensure the quality of food served in the mid day meal scheme by implementing quality control measures. These measures include checking the quality of the ingredients used, checking the hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen and storage area, and conducting regular checks on the preparation and serving of food.

NGOs are often involved in charitable or humanitarian activities, such as providing donations for education, healthcare, or disaster relief to communities in need. They may also work to promote human rights, protect the environment, or engage in other socially or environmentally responsible activities. As a result, they are often granted tax-exempt status by the government to allow them to use their resources more effectively and efficiently in achieving their goals.

I have been a part of an NGO for about 12 years now. Previous year I was appointed as a head of our NGO. Our NGO solely focuses on providing mid day meals in schools and also takes part in covid 19 food donations. Our NGO team is very big as there are people in each district of our state. Such a huge team not only has volunteers but there are a few paid employees in our organization too like the website developer, finance analyst , social media handle and many more who get paid monthly for their service.

Every week I spend at least a few hours volunteering for the NGO team as it isa good way to relax and stay out of our daily troubles. Working with an NGO teaches you many life lessons that benefit your professional life and the values you gained will always stay with you. Let’s see some of the skills NGO volunteers develop after joining an NGO.

I have been an NGO volunteer for the last 5 years and I used to request my friends to make small donations to the NGO. But most of them show hesitancy to make NGO donation as they have wrong assumptions about charity donations. Most of us have wrong thoughts about donations and I would like to discuss some of the common myths and the truth behind them.

School meal program launched to address malnutrition issues in children by providing free meals to all primary school students. The programs have been successfully implemented with the help of different NGOs and other organizations. It has also helped to improve literacy in our country. Mid day meal scheme has become an important program run by the government against malnutrition. It’s been two decades since the program was implemented and is always considered a success in the fight against undernourishment. It ensures nutritious food to all students till class 8 and the statistics have shown that it helped to improve the enrolment of girls in schools and attendance by the students. But while the scheme has been successfully implemented so far, there still exist some challenges.

The government should also set up more food NGOs that provide food regularly to the poor and needy. School meal program, however, are not enough to solve the problem. We need to tackle the supply problem as well. There needs to be more food grown sustainably.

Before you can go out there and do a corporate charity donation drive, you need to decide the venue, the personnel, the fundraising methods, and the beneficiaries and make sure that you have the support of your company management, as their support will mean a lot for the success of your drive.

The mid-day meal scheme of the Indian Government is one the most extensive meal programs in schools. This meal program has impacted the education scenario in the country concerning enrolment, attendance, and completion of school education. The objective is to provide nutritious meals to children in Government and Government-aided schools to improve health and learning outcomes. Hence, more than 400 NGOs are currently implementing this scheme in their capacities. As a philanthropist working in such an organization called the Annamrita Foundation, I will share an inspiring story of a little girl hailing from a small village known as Mahul, Maharashtra, to help you understand how mid-day meals in schools are changing lives.

I have been working with the Annamrita foundation for the last five years, and I have seen the launch of various programs, such as Annamrita Karuna, Kit of Joy, Tithi Bhoj, Khichdi Drive, Karuna Hospital Program, and Mid-day Meals. The one that’s actively working to support underprivileged communities, which include particularly malnourished children, is the mid-day meals scheme program.

Whatever the collection site you have chosen, make sure you seek proper approval. For example, if you’re selecting a school, grocery store, or workplace as your food collection site, ensure those are approved by the higher authority members. Or, if you are collecting donations For School at an event, be sure to reserve your location with the event organizer.

I remember when I started raising funds for donations in college, I didn’t have any idea about the process - where to go, how to do it, and whom to approach. And I'm not the only one who faced this problem. Usually, everyone who raises funds for charity for the first time experiences this situation. We often get confused when it comes to raising funds quickly. Finding the right option that makes the process of raising funds smooth and profitable is always a tricky affair. Hence, I have come up with four simple steps that enable you to raise funds for charity donations to support your cause.

Not all NGOs are frauds. There are many non-profit organizations in India that directly work with the government and come together for a noble cause. One of the popular examples is Annamrita Foundation which is a food NGO and is putting its best efforts to provide delicious and nutritious mid day meals to students. Find an NGO that is authentic and genuinely believes in serving the underprivileged sector of society. The above-mentioned points will definitely guide you on the right road.

In 1995, the Central Government of India established the school meal program, which involves giving free, freshly prepared meals to children in Government and Government-aided primary schools. The mid-day meal programme was launched to create a significant impact on the nutritional and educational status of underprivileged children. Because of institutional constraints, it was difficult to ramp up this scheme across the country.

Ihave been working at Annamrita since 2017 as an NGO volunteer. How the organization supported Government efforts through its network of kitchens by working closely with the Central Government, State Government, and civic administrations was remarkable. With generous online donations for corona relief from our corporate partners and individual donors, more volunteers were motivated to selflessly come forward in times of need to distribute cooked meals and relief kits.

In addition to understanding the importance of giving, it is essential to know how to donate money to NGOs that benefits the poor and the needy in the best possible manner. When you donate to food NGOs in India, you lend a significant helping hand in uprooting hunger and bringing child welfare to underprivileged communities with limited resources. By contributing to an NGO like Annamrita, which works relentlessly to provide mid-day meals in schools, you can improve the state of health, nutrition, and education for children in India. Taking the right step ahead is all we need to achieve much-needed socio-economic growth.

Being a teacher in a government school, I have personally experienced a variety of issues related to the execution of mid day meal programme. According to statistics, this school meal program has improved student enrollment and attendance.

The MDM scheme was introduced with the motive to fulfill the nutritional levels of the school-going children. Government school students up to class VIII, or those between the ages of six and fourteen, are given free mid day meal as a means of assisting them with their nutritional needs. Only children who enroll and attend school are given lunch and they are the one that is meant to get maximum benefits from this school meal program.

Are these NGOs really helping to empower women? Well, many food NGOs in India and social welfare groups are actively giving their best effort.

Incorporating blockchain technology into NGOs' operations is a practical method to solve the issues that plague them frequently. The operations of NGOs will become transparent and unchangeable thanks to an integrated blockchain system. Any food NGOs or NPO's value chain will reveal that a blockchain-enabled system may achieve this transparency at every link in the chain. By increasing knowledge and assisting social groups in developing shared systems of record for corporate donors, blockchain technology can enable new paradigms for change.

I am a student currently working on a paper which involves understanding the impact of mid-day meals in schools for achieving educational objectives. I feel this a commendable initiative from the Indian Government to end hunger in schools and promote education at the same time. Nowadays, we see many NGOs are contributing to this mid-day meal programme by providing freshly cooked, nutrition-packed meals in Government and Government-aided schools in remote corners of the country.

While the Central and State governments did their part, my love for social work made me volunteer at Annamrita NGO and participate in Covid 19 food relief donation program to improve the hunger situation. My team members and I set up community kitchens across major cities in India and served Covid-19 relief meals to the migrant workers stranded in the lockdown.
