Hi tremon. I work for the Azure Functions team. Sorry for the trouble. This should not happen. We should be giving you a proper response code when the deployment fails. It looks like you are using the sync version of the API but just double checking if you are using the sync or async version ? If you are using the async version then in that case we do return a 201 immediately and then you can use the status url to poll for the status. I would like to dig in and figure out what's happening here.

For the PowerShell Az issue as well - it would be good to know what command you were using/what you were trying to do. We dont support deployment of code using the Functions PowerShell Module (https://www.powershellgallery.com/packages/Az.Functions/4.0....). Did you deploy using AZ CLI and then using the PowerShell Module ?

You can either share your Function App info here by using this method: https://github.com/Azure/azure-functions-host/wiki/Sharing-Y...

or just email me at anirudhg at microsoft.com and I will look into this.

Thanks again for using Functions.

Most likely it would be based on CPU/Memory and not requests

I don't think you can scale up and scale down Fargate based on Http requests

One more "serverless" offering from Azure focused on IT/Azure Management scenarios is Azure Automation. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/automation/

The difference between it and other serverless offerings like Lambda and Functions is that you can run your jobs for upto 3 hours (after which we will restart it, not kill it, so if it is idempotent it will work ). It supports PowerShell/Python right now. Another core feature is being able to run scripts on your own VM from the Cloud called the Hybrid Worker. This has support both for Windows/Linux machines. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/automation/automation... (Disclosure: I am a member of the Azure Automation team)

anirudhgarg··on Microsoft Azure in Plain English
The way to think about Cloud Service is "Azure PaaS 1.0". Service Fabric is "Azure PaaS 2.0" focused on creating a micrososervice architecture for your services. Also, Azure Automation's equivalent is not strictly CloudFormation in AWS (that is Azure Resource Manager) but AWS Lambda for IT/Hybrid, it also does Configuration Management like Puppet/Chef.

There are several others which are not entirely correct, look at the comment https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13445324 below.

I think they are still doing the same thing. Doesn't look like any products are actually sold by Amazon.
