andyleclair··on Expert: LSP for Elixir
Yes, it is, as you can see by being under the `elixir-lang` github org
andyleclair··on Show HN: I wrote a new BitTorrent tracker in Elixir
Building a BitTorrent tracker out of GenServers makes zero sense. ETS is the correct choice to make here 100% (for a single server configuration). Obviously it doesn't scale horizontally but it will scale vertically to the moon and chances are, yagni anyway
andyleclair··on Show HN: I wrote a new BitTorrent tracker in Elixir
This is really good, my dude. I took a peruse through the code and I'm definitely impressed, this is like, code I would expect my senior engineers with elixir experience to turn in. Great job!
andyleclair··on Groupon Is Laying Off 1,100, Shutters Operations in 7 Countries
Good.
andyleclair··on Show HN: A Speed Reading Bookmarklet
Perhaps 'OpenSpray' to keep with the theme?
andyleclair··on Show HN: Beander, a platform for micro-roasters
What does "per bag" even mean? There's no weight (or mass) listed. If you're thinking that "bag" means "regular 1lb (or insert metric equiv. here) bag" and the first thing you see is $110/bag, it's quite the shock.
andyleclair··on Pinode: Raspberry Pi in the Cloud
I forgot I had this extension enabled: https://github.com/panicsteve/cloud-to-butt and hilarity ensued.
andyleclair··on Show HN: Interactive Tech Jobs Map
Very cool, thanks!
andyleclair··on Ask HN: Oops, I just sold my startup to a piano company. Now what?
I wish I had some advice for you, Dan, but I don't. I'm just leaving this comment to say congrats to my old roommate. You're the man now, dog!
andyleclair··on Show HN: iPad port of my sheet music app Etude
Congrats, Dan!
andyleclair··on HN: share your unneeded Google Wave invites
I'll jump on this bandwagon! Thanks to you if you send me one! (If you're in San Diego, I'll buy you a beer)

andyleclair··on Ask HN: Do you create music? Let's hear it!

andyleclair··on Ask HN: Access to the Corpus - What Would You Do?
Download all of the porn on the internet. I'm only half joking.

I like that of all the comments, this is the highest rated (as of 9:14am Pacific time)
andyleclair··on _why is no more
Maybe he's planning for a big star-spangled blowout and is getting us ready for it? Kind of like if MJ had jumped out of his coffin at the Staples Center to start singing Thriller?
andyleclair··on Ask HN: Why is concurrent programming so hard ?
Yes. I hear many a person bitch about concurrent programming. Concurrency is hard ONLY when you have mutable state. Otherwise, you just (call/cc ...) your continuations.

I thank my lucky stars every day that I go to a school where the first thing you learn is Scheme. Thanks, Matthias!

andyleclair··on Poll: Constitutional ban on making money from tax-return programs
Voting no for the singular reason of I work on Turbo Tax. That's my job you're talking about, sir!
andyleclair··on Hijacking Safari 4 Top Sites with Phish Bombs
I'm so glad this had nothing to do with the jam band.
andyleclair··on The Rasterbator - Create huge, rasterized images from any picture.
I just introduced my office to this by creating a larger-than-life copy of The Dude. Kittens were next. I fear for our productivity.
andyleclair··on A libertarian socialist engineer solves the financial crisis
That would be fantastic, you know, if the banks didn't already rule the world. Do you think that banks are going to let software replace them? I have a hard time believing that this would come to fruition with anything less thank a full on revolution.

That said, I would wholeheartedly support such a revolution.
