android2222··on Making an old USB printer support Apple AirPrint using a Raspberry Pi
I used this to retrofit some old laser MFCs in an office to use AirPrint so real estate agents could print from their iPads.
android2222··on Show HN: iPod.js – An online iPod that connects to Spotify and Apple Music
Curious if Apple would even allow this as an app on their store?
android2222··on Show HN: A better way to browse HN top stories and comments on mobile
Awesome, thank you for the feedback! A filter would be cool
android2222··on Show HN: A better way to browse HN top stories and comments on mobile
Sorry for my absolutely delayed reply, but it lets you see the top comments in addition to the story, so that you can get the gist of what's going on without having to click into every story.
android2222··on Ask HN: What would a car engine look like that was robot serviceable?
Perhaps wide and flatter to allow for easy access, and up higher in the engine bay? As to “why don’t we have that” - I think that by doing that you’d throw off the center of gravity, because an engine is made out of heavy strong metal to withstand the pressures it generates.
android2222··on Blog with Markdown and Git, and degrade gracefully through time
I actually follow this sentiment with my resume andyhablewitz.com
android2222··on Clip: Connecting Text and Images
Haha you are not alone as I do the same on an old CRM for non-profits. I'm thinking about going back to school to gain the missing math and science I need to get myself to a more challenging job. Boring business software just ain't fun. But it pays :)
android2222··on iFixit Teardown Reveals Few Differences Between iPhone 12, 12 Pro
It’s likely assembled on a different module / daughterboard to the main board, I would assume.
android2222··on Ask HN: What is your passive income 2020?
Trying to get https://seemyresume.io off the ground and gain some users.

Not using OpenBSD, but I'm running PopOS! after years on MacOs on a non-descript Walmart laptop. I was able to remove the branding on this one, so it's just some silver laptop on the outside. I was able to upgrade to 16gb of Ram and 1.5TB HDD for right at about $600 all together. I also have big USB ports, rj45, hdmi and a microSd reader. I can't complain. Things are fast and snappy and battery life is great. I was familiar with Linux before this, but this full plunge I took earlier this year has been awesome.

One thing I do miss is the Notes app since I could use it on my phone, but they can be accessed via the web.

How’d you get an API key
android2222··on Show HN: I built an app to create and share your Resume on the web
I do want to do some integrations with them as well. Do you mean why not just use those instead? I would say because with this app you have control over a recognizable url, and these resume pages are mobile friendly, so someone can digest your resume quicker than trying to zoom in and out on their phone or computer.

You’re right! Mine is at seemyresume.io/andy

android2222··on Show HN: I built an app to create and share your Resume on the web
I created this because I think resumes can be cumbersome to edit and pass around with all the various formatting out there, so I wanted to modernize them and put them online. Any feedback is appreciated! I hope to add some templates, the ability to create cover letters, and have different versions of resumes in the near future.
android2222··on Why Cryptocurrencies?: For the Unbanked
Yeah I mean there are many many parts of rural north america that do not have easy access to broadband. I grew up in Wisconsin - I just simply couldn't give someone coins when I'm up in the Northwoods.

Here's a quick example: https://www.vox.com/2017/6/20/15839626/disparity-between-urb...

Edit: If you give someone a coin with the private key on paper, technically you can give them coin offline, but the rest of the networks have no clue this happened, and you can't spend unconfirmed monies.

android2222··on Why Cryptocurrencies?: For the Unbanked
I think you do since not having it means that your wallet wouldn't know if you've spent or received any coins.
