andreyazimov··on I still like Sublime Text
I'm also still using Sublime with ChatGPT. I've tried Cursor for a week and went back to Sublime. I wonder if Sublime will ever have AI integration like Cursor
andreyazimov··on Show HN: I made an Applicant Tracking System that evaluates applicants with GPT4
As someone who has hired extensively, I discovered that approximately 80% of my time spent using an ATS was dedicated to reviewing CVs and rejecting applicants.

So, I created a very simple ATS that automatically rejects and pre-selects applicants based on how well their application (including responses to clarification questions) and CV match the job description.

andreyazimov··on Heroku: DNS Propagation Delays in Common Runtime and Private Spaces
Seems like related issue was in Aug 2022: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32572906

and might be fixed: We just deployed a workaround that brought our site back up. 1. Find your DNS Target in heroku. It should end with .herokudns.com

2. Lookup the historical DNS record to get the IP addresses. You can find historical DNS records here: https://securitytrails.com/dns-trails

3. Replace your CNAME record in your DNS provider with A records that point to the IP addresses you just found.

Your site should come back up shortly. We plan to revert back to CNAME records once Heroku gets their DNS issues sorted.

andreyazimov··on Show HN: I made a site to help start your web3 career
Hi HN,

I recently started looking into web3 and while it’s still early days, it’s really exciting to see what’s possible building on top of the blockchain in a decentralized way.

It feels like we’re on the brink of a big change.

That’s why I decided to collect all web3 jobs and learning resources in one place. So anyone who’s interested in starting a career in web3 can get a headstart.

Also, I started a Discord server and almost 400 people joined in 2 days.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks.

andreyazimov··on Show HN: iOS Icons – A marketplace for iOS home screen icon packs
Hi HN,

Seems now there is a boom on custom iOS icon packs, but I couldn't find a 1 place where all of them can be discovered. Some people are using Gumroad, someone Etsy and others using their own custom website. So I tried to build my own.

iOS Icons - It's a marketplace where an artist can submit their iOS icon packs and users can find the latest icon packs.

Please share your feedback.

andreyazimov··on Show HN: Press F to Pay Respects
Hi HN,

I made a simple game about my favorite meme "Press F to Pay Respects".

There is a big "F" button that you can press (via mouse or keyboard) and it gives you respect score. You can share you best score to leaderboard.

Press Upvote to Pay Respect :).

andreyazimov··on Show HN: Create pixel art using any image in Google Sheets
Hi HN,

I made a website that converts images to spreadsheet pixel art. It written on Javascript in Google Cloud (Functions, App Engine, Storage, Firestore) using Get-Pixel library to pixelate the image.

Uploaded images will appear in live feed.

Let me know what you think, I'd love feedback.

andreyazimov··on What are the most indispensable books for indie hackers?
For me most interesting are autobiography books where author is sharing his path from the start, instead of giving "10 rules of success" (which is his subjective insights summary of what worked for him).

The beauty of autobiography books is that we need to aggregate (generalize) these key insights based on the raw story ("subjectively raw" of-course) and our current situation.

The most valuable part for me is about overcoming hard problems.

The #1 book in my list is "Shoe Dog" by Phil Knight (The Founder of Nike). There is also an audiobook where Phil himself is read the first chapter.

I'm quite surprised that your comment was downvoted so much. Maybe people like this orange HN color? :D
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
Wow, I didn't know about it. Big thanks for this suggestions. I will add this filter soon. What do you think should be a name for this filter? Maybe something like "old posts"? :)
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
yes :D :D :D
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
what do you mean by "hotness"?
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
Totally agree, I'm pretty bad with colors, so I started with monochrome palate and just before the launch (or even during the launch) I decided to change it to bright orange #fe6400 (save as HN navbar), I thought it would be more attractive, but it's more annoying for eyes. As you said in HN they've made tiny bar and I mead full header :D I will think about colors. Maybe you can suggest good website that have caml colors that not annoys you and you can spend a lot of time there?

andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
Wow, you did design in 4 mins. This is so cool man! I found you today through this website and thought it was brilliant idea! BTW it's #3 for all the time
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
Strange, maybe because of new domain? Or maybe I need to switch from flexible to full SLL in Cloudflare.
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
The main idea of the website is that you don't need to type in the search bar each time. It's already have predefined filters and sorted by best of the day, week, month, year etc so you can take your phone and enjoy of reading while drinking your coffee (as I'm doing).
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Best of Show HN
Thanks!

Yeah, short filters that are consist of couple of letters are searching all works that have them.

I renamed "ai" to "artificial intelligence".

Agree about filters. I added: This year/month/week and last month, year. Working on last week.

Hello HN!

I find myself spending time on Hacker News mostly in Show HN section, because I'm really curious what people around the world are making.

But I was wonder what were the best project were made for entire history of Show HN.

So I aggregated all Show HN posts, group them by most popular posts of a day, week, month, year (starting from 2008) by upvotes. Also it has search my popular tags or words.

And last but not least I found articles from most successful companies like Stripe, Dropbox, DuckDuckGo and Quora that started on Show HN including their old website using Way Back Machine.

Let me know what you think, I'd love feedback

andreyazimov··on Show HN: Publisheet – Publish Excel sheets as interactive web pages
Nice! Using spreadsheets as a DB are trend now. Also Spreadsheets are pretty good CMS as well, so people can use it to create websites without code. I made an app called https://Sheet2Site.com which takes your Google Sheet of items/objects and translates it into an app, with filters and images
andreyazimov··on Show HN: Publish a Blog from Google Sheet
Show HN: Publish a blog from Google Sheet

Hello HN!

I previously created Sheet2Site.com, it lets you generate a website from a Google Sheet. A lot of users asked me how they can create a simple blog in the same way.

So I made a super simple blog in a single spreadsheet. It support Markdown for posts, and has support for a image header, nav bar, logo. Everything can be changed inside the sheet.

It also has Markdown live preview, to see how what you're writing will look like. And basic features like social media cards with images and custom CSS/JS.

I decided to move my personal blog from Medium. I used it for 2 years, but not it's just annoying.

Here's a blog demo: https://blog.andreyazimov.com/

And here's the source spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M_T1V_WIg4AYK7QmugFo...

Let me know what you think, I'd love feedback.
