I know it's OT but I wanna know what your old Citroën was. My first car was an S1 BX. Plasticky 80s goodness. I know it's not everybody's idea of a classic (at least in Australia where Citroëns aren't particularly common) but I loved it.

I imagine it would be. But that's not what the council of Nicaea decided, nor what Christians believe. It's further developed in the Athanasian creed that the Trinity is understood as one God (homoousios - same substance), but three persons. Whether or not the philosophy of consubstantiation is that useful to modern believers is another issue; attempts to reformulate the doctrine (like "there are three gods, but only one god") usually end in heterodoxy, or at least misunderstanding.

To be fair, the sharer may have just been quoting the ABC's own words. Clickbait is their MO of late, and their app is the worst for it. The website used to be better.

I worked with a fellow who was adamant that molybdenum was a better choice for head protection, and that tin or al-foil was just a cheap government trick to convince people into ineffective protection. He was a funny guy who could say things like this with a convincing straight face.

Nah. I was using a cheap Nokia 3230 in 2008 when looking for a replacement. the iPhone had just been released and it could not offer me a number of features I had been used to for years:

- Video calling (they didn't get front facing camera for ages) - Video recording. Of any kind. - Picture messaging. I can't remember if they offered any kind of MMS support. - Voice commands (they didn't work terribly well but had been a feature of Nokia phones for ages) - Third party apps - Text copy/paste - About a week of battery charge, depending on use.

So I bought an N95 instead, and had that for 8 years until it basically fell apart. Its original battery was still getting more life from a charge at this sorry stage than a new iPhone/Android replacement.

I played a port of PQ1 on a Nokia N95. Sadly it didn't work well, between the small screen, the wrong aspect ratio and the 12 key pad. Perhaps a larger touchscreen might ameliorate some of these problems but I generally find text entry on newer phones much worse with my (large) fingers.

I'm in Australia too, and just assumed that stuff was the norm for the US.

What fun that was. My friends and I did something much more innocuous in high school and earned outselves a stern talking-to: we changed the IE/Netscape home page on half- a dozen lab computers to a Geocities/Angelfire site we'd made and on which we had been experimenting with JS. Nothing sinister or malicious, but enough to cause a bit of confusion for a few students. The school's admins ran a pretty tight ship policy-wise, but it was a veritable playground for "network-curious" sorts like myself.
