Having a page detailing what the product offers never killed any marketing attempt (unless we are talking complete vaporware, that is).
I personally wasn't sure if I was looking at a game or some social app, and certainly I wouldn't install everything that shows up on HN for the sake of trying (we would wind up with a hundred apps per week, each with its own security clearance!)
I think I've been lucky myself - in 6 years living abroad I was questioned a lot only at the apex of the whole Berlusconi debacle... And even then I think it was more out of curiosity than jest. Ymmv, I guess, depending on the environment...
A note for people outside the academic Machine Learning field: NIPS is widely believed to be on a different level from the rest - during my PhD, my advisor used to say that a NIPS paper would be on par with a paper published on a good journal, resume-wise. The difference is especially striking if you've had the chance to attend other conferences (including, alas, IEEE-sponsored events) - that are, with very few exceptions, fairly terrible from a scientific point of view.
Other than that, this is really cool...

"Automatic" is clear, "getter-only" is clear, but "automatic getter-only" leaves me scratching my head.
edit: is it "same as a public readonly field, but it's a property"?
So no social policing - it just stirred some latent doubts about my current title :)
Of course in the end it matters little - this kind of silly discussion is good for a working Sunday afternoon. It's not like we can do anything to stop people from bandwagoning on the cool titles of this week...
