anamexis··on Court agrees with EFF: Utah's VPN law demands a technical impossibility
What makes you so sure this is the case?

If there's civil unrest, they can of course essentially turn off the internet, but there's a distinction between "the internet can route around censorship" and "the internet can be blocked in its entirety (or near entirety)"

anamexis··on Court agrees with EFF: Utah's VPN law demands a technical impossibility
I used Wireguard to my home residential internet almost exclusively the last time I was in China. 2 weeks, no issues.

Have you been to China? It is still super easy to bypass the Great Firewall with VPNs.
anamexis··on You said no MCP
The idea is that with an MCP, the agent doesn’t have access to any credentials. It can’t leak an API key.

I'm not sure if you're trolling, but glucose sensors are (minimally) invasive - they insert a filament under your skin with a needle.

Maybe not a bad event in itself, but a sign of decline to come perhaps?

And if you don't have a public API, you should always assume AI will be using your UI, reverse engineering your private API, and driving it directly.

I think you're going to need some kind of ML to turn that question into a structured search, and interpret the results.

Tokens used for user-facing prose are a rounding error for coding agents. I don't think there's a conspiracy there.

anamexis··on iPhone Duo
Right, which is under the context of hbarka’s comment

> The iPhone Duo is designed with this in mind. The aspect ratio any way you view it, folded or open, is preserved. Apple design knows a thing or two.

which is talking about the aspect ratio being preserved in the open and folded/half modes.

anamexis··on iPhone Duo
I see. I agree (obviously, it's a fact), but in the context of this discussion about aspect ratios and why the golden ratio would be relevant to this situation, it is reasonable to assume that the point here is that a full-screen, unfolded image would scale exactly to a half-screen/folded image with no change in aspect ratio.
anamexis··on iPhone Duo
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say, or what would refute what I said.
anamexis··on Apple Watch Series 12
> Siri Recap runs only when you choose. You can turn on Siri Recap in the Watch app on iPhone. When you turn it on, you can set a schedule based on time and/or location (for example, "only at work" or "never at night"), or you can manually turn it on and off. Across all these options, you can always turn it on or off at any time from Control Center.

> Siri Recap and Live Rewind help jog your memory, not provide a detailed record. Siri Recap doesn't produce a transcript. It generates a brief, high-level summary — comparable to notes you might jot down after a conversation. Live Rewind shows a text snippet of what was just said in the last 15 seconds, so you can catch something you missed.

anamexis··on iPhone Duo
Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you, but of course the aspect ratio is important. If you unfold a square, you don't get two squares.

It's difficult to read because it doesn't have line breaks.
anamexis··on Why is Arrays.fill 265 times slower on G1GC?
I don't know if it's AI or not, but if it is, it isn't egregious, and certainly not "garbage" or disrespectful to the reader.

There's no home wifi router for an address assigned by the cell carrier.
anamexis··on Htmx 4.0
I would classify HTMX as a different style of "SSR with tiny bits of JS on top." In fact, I would argue it is a more "pure" form of SSR-based interactive web development than an Alpine.js-style approach (I am not making any value judgment here).
anamexis··on Fixing a bricked Framework laptop
Again, small claims court's entire reason for existence is that you do not need a lawyer so that you can pursue small claims like this easily.
anamexis··on Fixing a bricked Framework laptop
And consulting an LLM is a great way to find guides and get basic information on feasibility and effort of bringing a claim. LLMs are not a replacement for critical thinking, and they never have been.
anamexis··on Fixing a bricked Framework laptop
Small claims court is specifically oriented towards self-representation and not requiring hiring an attorney.
