anaganisk··on Amazon now charges fees for UPS Store returns, forcing Whole Foods dropoffs
It's simple math even my non business brain can comprehend, you are selling a product, if the customer is not bringing it back himself, and drops it off at UPS or if you have to send your rep to pickup it costs money. But you decided against charging for that, as your value proposition, now that you have the market covered/cornered, you plan to go back on the value proposition. How is that not baiting and then switching. If Amazon never offered free drop off and increased the price it's a business change. But free returns is one of the main value propositions, customers fell for over other players.
anaganisk··on China’s BYD is overtaking Tesla as the carmaker extraordinaire
It would be interesting to see a Chinese manufacturer taking the lead in the automobile segment. Wonder how it will affect politically. It was all Korean or Japanese dominance till now with KIAs/Hyudai and Toyotas. American cars brands mostly fail outside the US.
anaganisk··on Free Speech Twitter Is Now Globally Blocking Posts Critical of Indian Government
Talk about playing victim, bakth doesn't mean Hindu devotee. It signifies a person who is devoted to anything, in this case BJP. If using a certain sanskrit word is hinduphobic, probably we Indians can quit internet. Also You are either lying when you say, or so deep in propaganda, when you say NDTV is thriving while Adani(yeah we know where his loyalty lies) has taken over ownership recently. When you say The Hindu is anti-govt, I can understand you don't understand what journalism means. There is no point in discussion of this further, because a quick Google search can show how many journalists have been arrested in bogus cases for asking questions.

Or you know stop baiting and switching, when they know they have to charge some day. If their value proposition is gone as soon as they killed their competition, they are most unethical and don't deserve that money. Regulations must be passed to combat this BS. In my country, Amazon returns are picked up from individual homes for now, the day they stop free returns is the day, Amazon will start their exit from my country for sure, it's literal suicide for them.

What rubbish, the mocking is severely limited to as long as you don't directly name the big bosses or don't criticize the hyped government policies. Yeah you may not be censured by the media, but you will be invited to Jail under treason laws, or be tagged as Anti-National or Anti-social element. And then bakths engage to harass that individual. Multiple individual journalists have been jailed, for asking questions. Unless someone is a well renowned big name, they will for sure be in big trouble. "In fact some publication with anti Govt" is exactly the sad reality for most of the world, journalism is supposed to be critical where needed, you can't say some publications thrive. Journalists aren't supposed to be the friends of govt, tell me why majority of the media in India is never critical on govt. Journalists are invited to all govt event: There have been instances where news channels were banned from attending, or straight up were blocked from telecasting.

anaganisk··on Substack’s CEO says Musk’s claims are false
Man HN or reddit crowd should brigade Musk for, source or proof for every tweet. Like why does he always blurt out random BS, pulls out all of them like a magician from his hat.

anaganisk··on Starlink internet is going from rural savior to unreliable luxury
I'm pretty sure you can't just launch satellites into orbit randomly without govt blessing it or stream data to ground stations legally (Eg: India doesn't like satellite phones), at a certain point Starlink could itself be the monopoly you dread.
anaganisk··on Starlink internet is going from rural savior to unreliable luxury
This was probably what Iridium thought when they started their satellite based phone network.
anaganisk··on McDonald's temporarily shuts its U.S. offices and prepares layoff notices
Isn't that already happening? And isn't that what caused all this mess in the economy. Every time Fed wanted to end quantitative easing Wall St threw a hissy fit and they didn't dare to do it.

anaganisk··on Disney Eliminates Its Metaverse Division
Haha you gave such a big explanation and invented games again. Still my point stands, all you are asking for is an interactive game that may not need user action to complete. But movies still need a script, without an actor performing an action the movie just doesn't complete it doesn't make sense at all. What you are describing is an open world like GTA, where NPCs just go around, gangs fight, police run behind, etc etc. It's just a game, it already exists. OP started with the expectation of an interactive movie. It's called GAMES.
anaganisk··on Disney Eliminates Its Metaverse Division
Isn't that just any other game? Like games that change based on your reactions? Like GTA5, Bioshock Infinite, Red dead redemption?
anaganisk··on The TikTok ban is a betrayal of the open internet
That's not what they meant and probably you know that, it's more like coming up with a standard set of rules that applies for all the apps and TikTok can either choose to obey them or exit the US market. Exactly like how American companies exited China. What the government perceives as a threat for apps from other nations must also apply to home grown apps. It's not like US based apps haven't been unethical, or didn't cause a crisis.

Without humans none of the religions even exist, do we see animals visiting any shrines? Cavemen existed without religions, the origin of religion is humans. They picked a god for that religion.

Probably you got flagged because, you say "because they say Musk is an alt right nutjob." While he himself tweets right wing stuff all the time, it's not something that's made up. You lose your credibility with that. And who is using TikTok to speak out? It's the most censored platform brought to you by a government that loves censorship, they were caught with boosting "pretty stuff", and has bought a lot of nonsense challenges.

Time and again I said this but anyone who thinks we will have decentralized currency are fools, who don't understand why the financial industry works the way it works. And why do govts don't like not having control over their currency.

And the only place to speak out is Twitter? A boy was banned from the platform because he published publicly available data of a private jet owned by the owner of Twitter. Overnight it was decided what constitutes parody or joke.

anaganisk··on Lebanon has two timezones, after disputes over DST taking effect
This is probably to the wrong crowd, but Why are orthodox religious people adamant on doing God's way? I mean if you believe everything is part of God's plan why can't you just accept the change of lifestyle over decades of human development. Humans built religion, religions didn't make humans.
anaganisk··on We’re no longer sunsetting the free team plan
Oracle would've charged per core and per GB of ram and number of containers to license your docker install. Free would allow 3 containers, on single core and 512MB ram. Sales people would be calling everyday to upgrade to docker pro, which is $120 per month/per user that will allow you to self host your registry, on premises or Managed Oracle cloud (vms and bandwidth extra). Ran docker run without a valid license? Prepare to be sued.
anaganisk··on Cloudflare disables access to ‘pirated’ content on its IPFS gateway
Main value proposition for non enterprise customers is, easy DDOS protection, edge caching of assets, DNS, domains and recently cloudflare workers which allow easy deployment of static sites. Webmasters and developers are an easy prey to at least DDOS protection and caching, their product is too good to avoid for many. I personally have a problem with cloudflare becoming a gatekeeper but at the end of the day, the value proposition is too good vs setting them up and managing yourself. Too many websites I use everyday have cloudflare in the front, and I just can't avoid them. Only because fighting spam is difficult for many.
anaganisk··on Hyundai promises to keep buttons in cars
In Indian traffic cars are constantly revving and slowing down. And Indian taxis are worst maintained. We don't have regulations enforcing it. And the driving of the majority of taxis is also haphazard. I'm not aware of any ideal taxi situation that you're speaking of in the Indian context.

anaganisk··on Hyundai promises to keep buttons in cars
Strangely, Does Hyundai/Kia have some difference wrt engines in US and India? Never heard anyone complain about engine in India even after 62k miles, they are quite popular among taxi drivers, who definitely stress the engine more than enough. Indian roads can be quite punishing on cars.
anaganisk··on India cuts internet for 27M people amid search for fugitive
Why the lie? Bengaluru is a small metro? An year ago was in Hyderabad also Delhi and many shop keepers and auto guys refused PayTM/PhonePe. Small businesses don't like cash in accounts, since many of them run on daily loans, and daily loan vendors generally don't like paying taxes on that amount so they only take cash. And those business owners need cash to pay back. There are a lot of other hurdles, which I don't want to post because it's off-topic. But no The adoption isn't a majority. And cash is still king.
