amitdugar··on Improved Graphs: Powered by the Open Source DO Agent
Not from DO but since it is open sourced, I am sure we can make it work with any Linux server with a little work :)
amitdugar··on Bitbucket is down
This is a more useful link to see what's happen(ing/ed) : http://status.bitbucket.org/
amitdugar··on Ask HN: Has cloud and mobile already happened? What's next?
I agree with Internet of things being the big thing in future.

It is just matter of time when everything we use will have its own API.

amitdugar··on Hyperloop
This is such a cool concept. I was so hoping he would build this.
amitdugar··on Show HN: My new domain search tool
This is not good.

I mean why should a smart search engine like Google limit a TLD to a particular region. Especially since squatters buy good .com domains and charge premium prices. They of all people should know the difficulties of finding relevant domains.

amitdugar··on Show HN: My new domain search tool
How risky or bad is it if you don't own the .com domain for your app or service ?
amitdugar··on Start-up and land an Enterprise client in one week
Anyone trying for this ?
amitdugar··on Show HN: PouchDB - The JavaScript database that syncs
Is it possible to do something like this for a MySQL (innodb with relational keys) database ? I am about to begin work on a project that might be used in countries where we don't have constant connectivity (internet and electricity) .. and we don't want to lose or corrupt data due to connectivity ...
amitdugar··on Getting Docker to run on Linode
I am new to this.

Docker lets us use same set of configs so that we have uniform server setup everywhere right ? How is this different from Vagrant ? Or did I miss something ?

amitdugar··on Skrollr - parallax scrolling for the masses
I am sorry, but your argument doesn't seem to make sense.

What 3D applications require Parallax on mobile phones ?

And, you are comparing mobile phone with web ?

amitdugar··on Music to Let you Concentrate
Thank you for suggesting Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works. I'd never heard of this before. Loving it :)
amitdugar··on Every great company has been built the same way: bit by bit
Some find it the Hard Way(TM) that most lucky breaks actually require hard work.
amitdugar··on Linux To Become Exclusive OS Of The International Space Station
completely n00b question : how does Debian compare with Ubuntu ?
amitdugar··on BBM for iOS and Android to Launch This Summer
Oh they are ? I seriously was thinking it is still downhill for RIM. Glad to know they still have hope.
amitdugar··on Apple using moving letters as captcha
so apparently reCaptcha is more secure than this one.

From Nucaptcha's website : "...most secure and usable Captcha solution in the market." :D

amitdugar··on Apple using moving letters as captcha
If this gif CAPTCHA system becomes popular, there will be some smart hacker who will figure out a way to crack this (read first frame, match different frames etc.)

I wish there was some better CAPTCHA alternative. CAPTCHA can be really horrible sometimes.

I know some people who close a webpage when they see a CAPTCHA, unless they have no other option and are forced to fill the form.

amitdugar··on Gmail Down Again
Working fine for me in India
amitdugar··on The story around the Linode hack
Ha :) I guessed so .. It is impossible to make an un-crackable system .. not sure if that is a good thing or bad ...
amitdugar··on The story around the Linode hack
Slightly OT, Is it possible to have a web application (using popular tech like RoR, PHP etc.) that cannot be cracked by anyone ?
amitdugar··on Twitter: music Page is Live.
Cannot sign in. I wonder if this is country restricted or something. Or probably some bug ..
amitdugar··on Bitmessage - a P2P communications protocol to send encrypted messages
This looks interesting. Thank you for making this open source.

BM-opoQdjrXhZtCaZApEDDxmFtnMpXkLDqTs :)

amitdugar··on Show HN: sachet – handcraft your Vim environment online
So one has to have customized Vim to have actually used Vim :) ?
amitdugar··on XMPP and Jabber
Adoption. That is one of the main reasons why most people won't mind paying for whatsapp ; almost everyone on their contacts list already uses the app and frankly most people don't know or care much about whatsapp's security measures.
amitdugar··on How to Build a Raspberry Pi File Server
Possibly because we have beginner hackers amongst us :)

I think HN is a good place for hackers of all shapes, sizes and experiences.

amitdugar··on Tizen - new Android competitor
Check out http://www.android-x86.org/

From the site :

This is a project to port Android open source project to x86 platform, formerly known as "patch hosting for android x86 support".

amitdugar··on Tizen - new Android competitor
But this does not mean they won't launch an Ubuntu phone.

I am guessing if there is some market interest in Ubuntu (Phone OS), Samsung will launch a phone to test waters.

amitdugar··on Tizen - new Android competitor
Have you tried Linux ? There are a lot of flavors to choose from. Ubuntu is really popular for Desktops but there are others.
amitdugar··on The web.py Philosophy
Also read this related article on his blog - Rewriting Reddit (http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/rewritingreddit). He talks about why they chose web.py over other Python frameworks (and also over LISP)
amitdugar··on E Online has left a Gist url on the top of their site
It has been more than 2 hours and I can still see it live. Strange that such a large website could overlook this for so long.
amitdugar··on Building Quality Tablet Apps
Maybe because it is a Sunday :)
