alexavilov··on AI Poised to Tilt Job Market Leverage Toward Older Workers
it's a catch 22, everyone knows that we need to grow talent from young, but board/investors/owners/etc are pressuring for a short term gains.

it is actually might be a good indicator that company is not doing too good

alexavilov··on Do Job Postings Show Early Labor‑Market Effects of AI?
tech companies often run in cycles from over-spend to cutting back. unfortunately it looks like we are in the cutting back stage now. some CEOs may use lame excuse that AI did it, but that probably was their own overly optimistic growth estimates which they couldn't deliver
alexavilov··on Ask HN: Will writing code by hand remain a part of work?
the critical infrastructure software / firmware is probably be human job for a while. I don't think vibe coding will cut for something that can kill thousands, break countries, or create a zombie apocalypse
alexavilov··on Ask HN: Why do LLMs use em dashes so often?
em dash overuse is a good indicator that text was created by AI
alexavilov··on Ask HN: Why do LLMs use em dashes so often?
it's a quick and almost sure AI created text tell :)
alexavilov··on The coming AI jobs-pocalypse
I am not sure where that "Americans lose their jobs" claim is coming from, Job statistics are freely available, US has historical low unemployment now (for many reasons, but nevertheless) and all that doom and gloom about AI eats the world jobs has little support from data.
alexavilov··on The coming AI jobs-pocalypse
the thing is , that "problem" is only affects reachest countries, the whole world will be doing what it is doing now for a while. it'll take some time before technology establishes itself and moves into poorer places. That will create a buffer for adjustment and will make the world as a whole a better for humans, just like other tech revolutions
alexavilov··on Ask HN: How to Invest 10K EUR
you ask for investment advise but it sounds like you want get rich quick. Just think, if someone knew how to get rich quick, why would they tell everyone that and reduce their own chances? And if they are trying to sell you a sure-thing get rich scheme, why they don't use what they sell, instead of collecting few $ here and there?

other than that, compounding works, but takes a lot of time.

alexavilov··on Ask HN: Are SaaS businesses going to zero?
could be anything: competition is better now and legacy app looks outdated / less desirable, studios are having hard time and saving money, etc
