Also, would like to add that Facebook does not know what's in your shopping cart. For all practical purposes, it's just an advert from Amazon (using retargeting).
Am a little lost. Can someone explain the background of this post? What are these extortion messages and why is he receiving them for usernames of a site etc.?
Bill Gates earned his wealth in his own lifetime. He's self made and still wishes to give away most of his wealth. I don't understand how you can criticize someone like that. At the end of the day, he is parting from his hard earned money.
Its annoying that people have started using hacking for everything. Isn't art hacking just art? Isn't growth hacking just growth. I hate how these buzz words catch on and are then used for anything and everything.
This is truly a good step forward. I am not sure why it's called Safari Push Notification. As per their docs, it is primarily an OS function. So technically it should be possible to do this using Chrome on Mac as well. However, it is possible they bundle it with Safari. Then they can have push notifications in Windows as well.
I had the exact same issue. I launched a new droplet and installed Tomcat. Then got busy with other stuff. The next day I get an email that my droplet has been used for DDOSing. And am like clueless as it was a fresh droplet. I ask them more details about the attack but they do not reveal anything. I don't even know which files were responsible and where they directed the traffic to. They disable the droplet completely. The password for the server was their default created one so I don't think a security breach really happened. In over 7 years of working with plenty of hosts, this is the first time this has happened.
Can anyone help me understand why the price is rising so rapidly? It was like $50 a while back. Now its 10x that. Is it because the difficulty to mine is rising exponentially? Or am I missing something?
This is the third story in two weeks. Either the hacking attempts are increasing or the site owners are cashing out. Either way it's bad news. Anyone with bitcoins must use an offline wallet.
Visa and MasterCard allow 2 months. But if you do a chargeback, the vendor can dispute it. Amex allows 4 months (atleast) and the vendor cannot dispute the charge.
We were using Amazon CloudFront and bleeding money. Approximately spending about $50 every 2 days. I researched to find a cheaper alternative. And found cdn77.com. Very good and reliable. The costs came down to approx $100/mo. I am not sure about custom SSL pricing though.
It really worries me that whenever Google rolls out a feature within their search results, it destroys a business. For example, earlier currency conversion and dictionary word meanings required using third party sites. Now it can be done directly via their search. I no longer visit the old sites. Now with this, I will be less likely to visit etymonline.com. Quite similar to how including IE by default in Windows lead to lawsuits of unfair competition/monopoly. Is it wrong to believe something similar may happen with Google search.
My comment was incomplete. Am wondering what is the best way to do secure messaging for a new system. I think PGP would be good. But will the encrypted private and public key both be stored in the database? Then using the user's password decrypt the private key. Does that sound good or is there a better way to do it?
On a very off topic, how much do you have to pay for a four letter domain like yours and whats the process like. Did you use something like sedo/godaddy? I've always wondered how difficult is it to acquire one.
It's extremely scary. In most countries, the right to owning ammunition is not allowed. The thought that in the future, my neighbor could make a gun using a home 3d printer makes me feel very unsafe.
